Bryce Harper Subject of Racial Remark by Redskins GM Scot McCloughan
Washington Redskins general manager Scot McCloughan orchestrated a strong draft in 2015, but he is under fire for his scouting report on Washington Nationals slugger Bryce Harper.
When asked about where Harper would fit in on a football team Thursday on 106.7 The Fan's Grant and Danny Show, the highly touted personnel man made reference to the Nats superstar's race, according to Chase Hughes of CSNWashington.com: "Ehhhhh, probably strong safety. But, I went to a game a couple weeks ago, and he flipped his hips and caught a fly ball out in right field in the corner, and I thought, maybe (cornerback). But I'm thinking, uhh, okay, no, he's gotta be a safety. He's a white guy."

McCloughan was extremely complimentary of the 22-year-old outfielder over the course of the interview, but his racial comment is something that could land him in hot water with those around the sport of football.

He may have unintentionally given some insight into how a player's race impacts the manner in which they are perceived, and that is clearly something the NFL doesn't want.
Even though there likely wasn't any malice on McCloughan's part, one can only assume that some type of apology will be forthcoming.
