Bray Wyatt's Key to Long-Term Success Will Be Reuniting the Wyatt Family

Donald WoodMay 8, 2015

Over the last two years, one of the most interesting characters in the WWE has been Bray Wyatt. But after taking the loss to Undertaker at WrestleMania 31 and missing Extreme Rules, he needs a marquee storyline moving forward.

It’s time to reform The Wyatt Family.

Wyatt has been single-handedly carrying feuds for months on the mic, and he is doing it once again against Ryback. Unfortunately, the lack of true direction for the multidimensional character has hurt him and squandered any momentum he gained by fighting a legend like Undertaker.

Ryback is a solid midcard worker, but Wyatt should have been elevated to a higher place on the card following his loss to a part-time wrestler.

After missing Extreme Rules completely and hardly wrestling for months, one solution would be allowing the other members of The Wyatt Family to do the heavy lifting for him.

All three former members of the heel stable—Wyatt, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan—have been wallowing since the group broke up. While Wyatt himself has put on memorable matches with Dean Ambrose and Undertaker, he does not have the same aura he once did when he was portrayed as a cult leader with followers.

While Wyatt is unquestionably one of the best mic workers in the wrestling business today, he is not wrestling enough to be considered a dominant force.

As much as the WWE Universe wants to see him in the ring more often, the company refuses to put him in matches.

The return of The Wyatt Family would allow Harper and Rowan to fight Wyatt’s battles for him, building more heel heat and at least having a storyline reason for why he doesn’t wrestle often.

Since losing to Undertaker, Wyatt has continued to call himself the “Face of Fear,” but he needs to earn that moniker. Instead of talking a big game and not backing it up, having two huge cult followers always by his side would make him look far more dangerous.

WWE needs top heels right now, and there are no viable stables besides The Authority. Reforming The Wyatt Family would kill two birds with one stone and give a clear direction to three very talented performers.

During its run at the top of the card, The Wyatt Family became one of the most interesting and unique stables in wrestling. If WWE cares about the future of all three former members, the creative team would put the Superstars back together and let them dominate once again.

Bray Wyatt and the WWE Universe need The Wyatt Family.
