Twitter Reaction: Arsenal Fans Celebrate St Totteringham's Day After Win at Hull
Chelsea may have stolen the limelight with their Premier League title win on Sunday, but Arsenal's clash with Hull on Bank Holiday Monday had implications at both ends of the table.
The hosts went into the game just one point away from the drop zone but in a mini renaissance of form, having won their past two league games. The Gunners, meanwhile, were looking to close in on Manchester City for the honour of second place, while consolidating automatic entry to next year's Champions League.

Perhaps the most anticipated aspect of the game, however, was the official arrival of St. Totteringham's Day. The point in the season at which Tottenham can no longer mathematically finish above their north London neighbours would celebrate its 20th consecutive year if Arsenal avoided a loss—something they have done in their past nine meetings with Hull.
Before kick-off, some Arsenal fans were looking forward to #TotteringhamsDay, while others had already started the celebrations...
There were, however, a few spicy retorts for the celebrating Gunners fans...

Despite the fact that the Tigers were on a good run and had beaten Liverpool at the KC in their last match, some bold propositions were also being made. None quite as bold as this NSFW tattoo promise but bold all the same...

In the first 20 minutes, Hull were content to sit deep and there wasn't a great deal of action. In the stands, meanwhile, Arsenal fans started singing that their host city for the evening was not a pleasant place and they wished to return home (NSFW link).
The home fans responded with some world-class banter based around the fact that Hull is set to become the 2017 UK City of Culture...

Five minutes later, Santo Cazorla pinged a brilliant ball to Aaron Ramsey, whose shot took a cruel deflection off Robbie Brady to double the visitors' advantage...

There was also plenty of criticism being aimed at former Tottenham star Tom Huddlestone, whose first-half performance earned him trending status...

Just after the hour mark, Mesut Ozil pulled off a sublime flicked pass that sent Gunners fans into a mini frenzy...

As the game drew to a close, the mutterings of protest against referee Lee Mason grew to a crescendo when a few decisions didn't go in Arsenal's favour...
In spite of Mason's perceived transgressions, the full-time whistle blew and Arsenal earned a 3-1 victory. St. Totteringham's Day became official...
