2015 NFL Mock Draft: Updated Outlook for Rounds 4-7
Two days down, one to go at the 2015 NFL draft. The first 99 picks have come and gone in Chicago, leaving a number of questions hanging on the board.
How far will T.J. Clemmings' slide go? Do the Cleveland Browns know wide receiver is a position on the football field? How long can the Dallas Cowboys wait to draft a running back before our Adrian Peterson sirens start blaring? Oh, right. The last one has been going off since Thursday.
While those are less high-profile questions than the ones we were asking in Round 1, their importance is not to be trivialized. We don't need to rattle off a list of Hall of Fame names who were third-day picks at this point. We all know gems can be found here, even if it's often amid a pile of rubble.

Best Available Players
1. OT La'el Collins, LSU

Collins has dropped to the third day for off-the-field reasons. He is set to meet with police in Baton Rouge on Monday regarding the murder of a woman police believe to be his ex-girlfriend, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. He is not currently a suspect in the case, but the timing of the situation has forced teams to re-evaluate whether they want to take the risk.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Collins plans to refuse to sign his contract if drafted Saturday and re-enter the 2016 draft. If he goes undrafted, Collins will immediately become a free agent. All of this has combined to result in an increasingly uncomfortable situation that is difficult to discuss.
It'll be interesting to see if a team decides to roll the dice and convince Collins to sign after the case is wrapped up.
2. OT T.J. Clemmings, Pittsburgh

Clemmings has none of Collins' off-the-field issues. He's just dropped for reasons that remain unclear. For most of the process, the Pittsburgh product was viewed as a potential first-rounder. He's already a run-blocking mauler with a ton of potential as a pass protector; at the very worst, he could move inside to guard while his pass-blocking acumen catches up.
For whatever reason, he's slipped through the cracks. Clemmings probably should be the first player off the board Saturday to Tennessee. The Titans already have a left tackle of the future in Taylor Lewan, but Clemmings very easily could fit on the right side, where his issues won't be as troublesome.
Regardless, it's strange to say the least that he's on the board.
3. DT Michael Bennett, Ohio State
Bennett's another guy who's fallen farther than anyone could have expected. He was a borderline first-rounder when the process began. By Thursday, he'd moved into second-round range, but few experts saw Day 3 as a possibility.
Over the last two seasons, Bennett made 14 sacks and 25.5 tackles for loss. His size is less than ideal, and an injury kept him from the combine, but we've seen similar players go earlier. Few defensive tackles—if any—in this class are better pass-rushers, and Bennett would be perfect in a situational role right away.
The Patriots feel like a natural fit, especially given Bill Belichick's affinity for Urban Meyer players. If Belichick goes all Belichick, another team will swoop in and land a steal.
4. CB Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, Oregon
The NFL is a weird, weird league. On one side, you have Todd Gurley. Gurley plays a position of increasingly lesser importance in the sport, one where the shelf life is nonexistent and the recent history of first-round picks is onerous. While an elite talent, Gurley suffered a torn ACL that left him unable to work out for teams before the draft.
Gurley went 10th.
Ekpre-Olomu, according to ESPN's Darren Rovell, was projected as the No. 12 pick by an insurance agency in charge of a policy Oregon opened on his behalf. Ekpre-Olomu plays a position of extreme importance, perhaps the most important spot in today's pass-happy NFL. But while a special talent, Ekpre-Olomu suffered a torn ACL that left him unable to work out for teams before the draft.
Ekpre-Olomu is still on the board.
Again, the NFL is weird.
5. WR Rashad Greene, Florida State
Greene has been one of the most reliable receivers in college football over the last two seasons. He's probably not going to be a star at the next level, but he projects as a serviceable third wideout who can play slot and outside.
Of the skill-position players left on the board, he's the one I'd bet the most on having a long NFL career. He was one of the Seminoles' vocal leaders amid a tumultuous season, runs crisp routes and plays the game with an admirable intelligence.
Size and speed are the reasons he's still on the board, which makes sense on the surface. Come September, though, we'll probably all be scratching our heads.
