Joseph Randle Avoids Charges Stemming from Alleged Domestic Dispute
Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle won't be charged with either a felony or misdemeanor stemming from allegations of a domestic dispute on Feb. 3 with his son's mother, Dalia Jacobs, who claimed Randle brandished a gun and smashed a car window.
The Sedgwick County District Attorney’s office declined the option to file felony charges in a statement, according to CBS DFW:
"A statement from the District Attorney’s office says the evidence was not sufficient to move forward with felony charges, though misdemeanor charges are still possible. The three-month investigation conducted by the Wichita Police Department included witness interviews and the analyzing of all available evidence. ...
“The sufficiency of proof required in a criminal case is proof beyond a reasonable doubt. We find the nature of the available evidence in this instance is insufficient to meet that burden as to felony charges.”

On May 1, the Wichita City attorney's office announced that Randle would not be charged with a misdemeanor, either, according to Naheed Rajwani of the Dallas Morning News:
"Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle will not face misdemeanor charges related to a Feb. 3 domestic disturbance that involved him and his ex-girlfriend, the Wichita, Kan. city attorney’s office announced today.
The city attorney’s announcement came just days after the Sedgwick County district attorney’s office said it will not file felony charges against Randle.
Consider it case closed “barring further evidence,” said Ken Evans, a city spokesman.
“We have also reviewed the evidence at the city level and determined that the evidence does not support the [misdemeanor] charge,” Evans said. “This case was treated like any other.”
"
Jacobs reportedly called police that night and described the incident in question, though she later called back and said they didn't need help because they had worked things out. Police did end up arresting Randle after coming and finding marijuana in his hotel room, though those charges were dropped.
Randle, 23, was a backup to DeMarco Murray this past season for the Cowboys. He rushed for 343 yards and three touchdowns. Even though he won't face charges, Randle isn't out of the woods yet, as it's not known if or how the NFL will punish him.
