Marcus Mariota Rumors: Browns Reportedly Looking to Trade Up to Draft QB
With the 2015 NFL draft one day away, rumors are heating up about where 2014 Heisman winner Marcus Mariota may end up.
According to ESPN's Pat McManamon, via SportsCenter, the Cleveland Browns have offered two first-round picks (Nos. 12 and 19 overall) to acquire the No. 2 overall pick owned by the Tennessee Titans with the intent of drafting Mariota:

However, per McManamon's full report on ESPN.com, a source with the Titans told ESPN.com's Paul Kuharsky that Cleveland has not made an offer for the pick:
"A source with the Titans told Paul Kuharsky of ESPN.com that the Browns had not made an offer for the No. 2 overall pick, and another source close to the Browns said there have been no substantive talks with the Titans and that these discussions commonly take place as the draft approaches.

John Middlekauff of 95.7 The Game is reporting that the Titans want both 2015 first-round selections, Cleveland's second-round choice and the team's first-round pick next year in return.
Browns general manager Ray Farmer is quoted in McManamon's piece as saying he would move up or down "if it was the right circumstance."
On Thursday, Andrea Kremer of ESPN and Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer reported that the Browns weren't interested in giving up their 2016 first-round pick for Mariota:
The trade would make sense. The Titans, while possibly seeking a long-term answer at quarterback, have a roster so devoid of impact talent that two first-round picks would be a good way to start building.
Dane Brugler of CBS Sports weighed in on the rumors of Cleveland's potential move:
The Browns have drafted quarterbacks in the first round twice in the last three years. Brandon Weeden was released in 2014 to make room for Johnny Manziel. The controversial 2012 Heisman winner appeared in five games last season, completing 51.4 percent of his passes with no passing touchdowns and two interceptions.

During the offseason, Manziel checked himself into a rehab facility for alcohol dependency. The Browns still have no idea what Manziel will be in the NFL, thus making it easy to understand why they would explore other options in the draft.
Mariota seems to be the prize teams will be looking to move up for with Jameis Winston a virtual lock to go No. 1 overall to Tampa Bay. The Titans have all the leverage in any trade discussion that may come up between now and when they pick Thursday.
