Jordan Brand Classic 2015: Results and Top Performers from High School Showcase
They may be at least a year or two away from joining the professional ranks, but several of the top high school recruits in the United States got a chance to shine on an NBA court Friday night for the 2015 Jordan Brand Classic at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
The Jordan Brand Classic parsed the prep field via geography, with the West team earning a razor-thin 118-116 victory over the East, a development that just so happens to mirror the current power structure in the Association.
Cheick Diallo and Allonzo Trier—playing for the East and West, respectively—took home the co-MVP award on the night, per ESPN College BBall:

The Jordan Brand Classic isn't some rogue, offshoot high school showcase. The 2014 MVPs were Jahlil Okafor and Cliff Alexander, the former of whom could very well be the No. 1 pick in the 2015 NBA draft. The 2013 MVPs? The Milwaukee Bucks' Jabari Parker and the Los Angeles Lakers' Julius Randle.
Naturally, the two MVPs make a fine jumping-off point for a rundown of the top performers from the exhibition.
Cheick Diallo
We don't know who it is yet, but one NCAA program is going to be made very happy when Diallo finally commits to them for the upcoming college season. The No. 2 power forward prospect in the nation, per 247 Sports, played brilliantly on Friday, racking up 26 points and 11 boards.
ESPN College BBall noted he did most of his damage in the first half:

Bleacher Report's Jonathan Wasserman was enamored by his ability to take over the game without much flash:
Scout.com's Evan Daniels pointed out that Diallo already has some hardware from the exhibition circuit this year:
Diallo's bright performances in these big games bode well for his ability to handle the pressures of college basketball next season. There doesn't appear to be a stage too big or too overwhelming for him, and it's quite clear he can hold his own against players who figure to be his top competition in the collegiate ranks—unless they're lucky enough to get him as a teammate.
Allonzo Trier
Trier led all scorers Friday night with 28 points, a line made even more promising by how efficient he was from the floor, per Slam Magazine:
247 Sports' Jeff Ermann figures Trier can be an immediate contributor at Arizona next season:
Jordan Classic provided a photo of Trier rising to rock the rim during the game:
Trier is a whirling dervish at shooting guard if a tad bit undersized, but he has the speed and inside-out game to make up for whatever physical advantage he gives up to larger guards. Look for him to carry the torch in style for a wildly successful Wildcats program next year.
Isaiah Briscoe
A product of Roselle Catholic High School in Newark, New Jersey, Isaiah Briscoe is quite possibly the best point guard recruit in the country—247 Sports has him at No. 2 in their composite rankings.
He certainly proved his worth on Friday with a dazzling array of deft ball-handling and stone-cold shotmaking en route to a 22-point line.
Briscoe received big-time support from the New York City crowd with his thrilling second-half exploits, per Daniels:
Briscoe, a New York City native, spoke of his comfort in the spotlight after the game.
“It was time to stop playing, to go out there and try to score,” he said of the late-game play, per Cam Smith of USA Today. “I’m kind of used to big gyms being filled up and the crowd going crazy. I feed off that energy. It’s something I’m used to."
The future Kentucky Wildcat has several pairs of mighty big shoes to fill upon entering college, with seven members of John Calipari's 2015 Final Four squad declaring for the NBA draft.
Considering Coach Cal's penchant for excellent recruiting, Briscoe won't be alone in continuing Kentucky's reign of terror—center Skal Labissiere, who performed well in the Jordan Brand Classic, is one such fellow recruit—even if he showed on Friday he can take over a game single-handedly if need be.
