WWE Extreme Rules 2015: Superstars Who Deserve Biggest Push Leading Up to PPV

Aaron BowerApr 14, 2015

As Extreme Rules gets nearer and nearer, talk is naturally starting to turn toward the matches and the Superstars that will be involved in them.

With championships on the line and a post-WrestleMania lull for some stars coming out of the biggest show of the year, there are some guys on the card who deserve a real push.

Whether it's stars who have struggled to break out following WrestleMania, or wrestlers that have been away from the spotlight for a good few months, there are some guys who will be looking for a push leading to Extreme Rules.

One of those simply has to be Bray Wyatt, who after a strong performance before and during WrestleMania hasn't quite hit those heights heading out of the event.

Wyatt did a sterling job of promoting his match with The Undertaker at WrestleMania, especially when you consider his opponent didn't do a single part of the build for the contest.

Some of Wyatt's promos, particularly as we got closer and closer to the show, were exceptional and really helped to give him a strong standing prior to WrestleMania.

His performance in the match itself was also admirable, but since WrestleMania, things have been pretty disastrous.

A lack of TV time has left Wyatt's fans questioning what is next for the former leader of The Wyatt Family, with a serious push perhaps no less than he deserves.

Elsewhere, another popular Superstar who is more deserving of a push than others has to be Dean Ambrose. It's amazing to think that Ambrose is yet to win a match on pay-per-view since leaving The Shield, despite him being one of the most popular stars on the roster.

What the WWE do with Ambrose moving forward is a tricky issue admittedly, but if he goes up against Luke Harper at Extreme Rules, expect it to be a match that more than holds its own.

The challenge for the company is to give Ambrose's fans what they want, which is a serious and sustained push up the card.

He has popularity on his side, and he has stacks of talent to boot. Finding him a spot nearer the main event scene will be tough, but with the WWE putting increased importance on their midcard championships following WrestleMania, Ambrose should be at least in contention for one of those titles.

Of course, that would mean that either Daniel Bryan or John Cena would drop their title to give a babyface Ambrose a run toward the belt. In terms of a feud to keep him going until that time arrives, the rivalry with Harper is certainly an interesting one.

The two have nice chemistry in the ring, and there was that blockbuster moment at WrestleMania when Ambrose was sent hurtling through a ladder from Harper's powerbomb.

If that moment is used as a cornerstone of their feud, then Ambrose's relevance and momentum could come into the spotlight once again, just as it did last year during his feud with Seth Rollins.
