Tyler Ulis to Return to Kentucky for Sophomore Season: Latest Details, Reaction
The sting likely hasn’t worn off yet for Kentucky fans after a stunning Final Four loss to Wisconsin, but the good news for Big Blue Nation is that next year’s team should once again be among the best in the nation.
Point guard Tyler Ulis will be a part of that squad, according to his tweet:

This is critical news for Kentucky since SportsCenter tweeted that both Andrew and Aaron Harrison will enter the upcoming NBA draft, creating a shortage of depth in the backcourt. Plus, fellow guard Devin Booker has not yet announced his decision but could be a first-round pick; he'll likely take that into consideration when weighing his options.
Ulis is an impressive perimeter defender who has the speed and athleticism necessary to get out in transition, especially after he forces turnovers.
Andrew Perloff of The Dan Patrick Show and Sports Illustrated described some of Ulis’ best traits:
Look for Ulis to contend for a starting spot in Kentucky’s rotation next season with the departures of the Harrisons. He has an experience edge over incoming freshman point guard Isaiah Briscoe and is comfortable playing alongside the likes of Marcus Lee and any other Wildcats who come back next year.
Finding a way to split time between Ulis and Briscoe is certainly a better problem for coach John Calipari watching Ulis depart along with the Harrisons.
