Chelsea Transfer News: Mauro Icardi Fuels Blues Rumours, Filipe Luis Latest
Internazionale striker Mauro Icardi is rather relaxed about his future with the Nerazzurri amid reported interest from Chelsea but has admitted he’d be happy to “pack his bags and go” should the San Siro club decide it wants to sell.
Speaking with CNN (h/t Enis Koylu of Goal.com), Icardi revealed he is happy in Milan at the moment, but if the club is privy to a sale, that’s not a problem either:
"I still have three years and if we can find an agreement then everyone is going to be happy.
If other clubs want me, they have to talk about it with Inter. If the club wants to sell me, I'll pack my bags and go.
Otherwise I will stay in Milan as I really like it here and I'm happy. My family feels at home here.

As noted in the piece, the Blues, Manchester United and Manchester City have all been linked with the 22-year-old striker, who is enjoying a fine campaign in Serie A this season. But while Icardi has flourished at the point of the Nerazzurri attack, the rest of the team has been remarkably inconsistent and subsequently look unlikely to qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season.
While Icardi seems content in Milan, he will surely have ambitions to play at the very top level. As noted by James Horncastle of BT Sport last month, the Argentinian is a hugely entertaining and unwaveringly confident player:
Chelsea doesn’t seem like the best destination for Icardi, however. While Jose Mourinho would like the rounded style of the Inter man, if the forward is to move, then it needs to be to a club where he would continue playing a vital role. With Diego Costa and Loic Remy in situ at Stamford Bridge, it’s unlikely Icardi would even be guaranteed a start.

The player has hinted at wanting to stay at Inter in the aforementioned quotes, and few could blame him if his family is settled there. Plus, although Inter look unlikely to be playing in Europe next season, another campaign at the point of Roberto Mancini’s team would enrich Icardi’s development much more than a season of occasional showings for the Blues.
Filipe Luis Happy at Chelsea

After his diligent, determined showings for Atletico Madrid last season, Filipe Luis looked like one of the signings of the summer when Chelsea brought him to Stamford Bridge. But it’s been a frustrating campaign for the Brazilian, who has been on the fringes of Mourinho’s squad throughout the entirety of his debut year in London.
Nonetheless, the left-back has insisted he is happy with the Blues and wants to see out the remainder of his deal, per PA Sports (h/t ThePFA.com).
"I'm happy at Chelsea. I want to stay at the club until the end of my contract," said the 29-year-old. “We have a chance to win the Premier League. Everyone wants to be there to try to help the team to win the league."

According to Simon Johnson of the London Evening Standard, Luis could head back to Atletico as Chelsea look to lure Koke to the club.
While the Blues’ premature elimination in both the FA Cup and the Champions League may prompt some into wanting an influx of summer transfer activity, Bleacher Report’s Garry Hayes doesn’t think widespread change is needed at the club:
Luis is a player who fits into that bracket. Mourinho is renowned for wanting a settled back four, and so far this season, the performances of Cesar Azpilicueta at left-back have been immaculate. Naturally, the Spaniard has subsequently been an almost immovable figure.
From Chelsea’s perspective, Luis is the only orthodox left-back they have at the club, and selling him this summer would leave them short in that facet of the squad.
As such, expect Mourinho to stick by the player and for Luis to be a much more regular feature for the Blues next season after a campaign of seismic transition.
