WWE NXT Results: Biggest Winners, Losers and Moments from April 1

Erik BeastonApr 2, 2015

April 1 may be a day of fools and trickery, but for the Superstars of NXT, it was all business. The performers attempted to build momentum for themselves in a brand where every win or loss could easily be the difference between a spot on the upcoming live special and being forced to watch from the locker room.

Two of those Superstars, Hideo Itami and Tyler Breeze, looked to bring to an end their competitive rivalry that had, over the last few weeks, seen each man net a victory over the other.

With bragging rights and positioning for a future NXT championship match at stake, they battled in the main event of Wednesday's show. The match, a 2-out-of-3 Falls match.

Their quick-strike offense would lend unpredictability to the match, leaving fans wondering who would emerge the victor.

A very hard-fought bout was won by Breeze, who was able to deliver his second Beauty Shot of the contest to score himself the pinfall victory.

Though Itami lost, both he and Breeze confirmed the amount of talent that exists from the very top of the card all the way to the curtain-jerkers.

Who else joined Breeze and Itami as winners on this week's show, putting themselves in position to be major players as the build to the next NXT live special begins?

Let's take a look.

Winner: Emma

Emma turned in a simply phenomenal performance Wednesday, and none of it had to do with her in-ring work.

The Australian-born Diva let her frustration over her spot in World Wrestling Entertainment shine, somewhat mockingly going through the motions as she made her way to the ring. From there, she was completely disrespectful toward Bayley, taking her lightly throughout the contest.

Her relaxed attitude led to her falling in defeat, then appearing absolutely broken as Bayley attempted to console her.

Emma is incredibly talented, especially between the ropes. To see Triple H and company taking an interest in her, helping to rebuild her character through logical storytelling rather than simply turning her heel for no reason.

Losers: Jason Jordan and Tye Dillinger

There is talent in both Jordan and Dillinger just waiting to be exploited by NXT Creative.

Unfortunately, there is no character involved, nor is there much in the way of story. That the team was essentially enhancement talent for the likes of The Ascension and the Lucha Dragons does not help matters.

It is impossible to convince an audience to care about Dillinger or Jordan when management did not care enough to give them anything to do.

The writing staff found out the hard way Wednesday night, when Jordan and Dillinger wrestled a match. Just a match, nothing more or less.

Winner: Rhyno

Any time a Superstar returns, it is always a nice little test to see exactly how over he or she really is based on how well they sustain the pop from the audience in their second, third or even fourth appearances.

Rhyno passed the first test Wednesday night, receiving a huge ovation and repaying the fans with a dominant win and a declaration of contention in regards to the NXT championship.

The Man Beast still has a great deal left in the tank. He can move and still clearly has the passion necessary to perform, as he shows every time he sets foot inside the squared circle.

With a roster full of immensely talented individuals chomping at the bit to make an impression that earns them the recognition of main roster management, working with a guy as talented as Rhyno, who has been there and achieved success, is perfect.
