Barcelona Transfer News: Luciano Vietto Reveals Lionel Messi Dream Amid Rumours
Luciano Vietto has not ruled out a move away from Villarreal, suggesting it is a dream of his to play alongside Barcelona's Lionel Messi.
The 21-year-old Argentine only moved to the Yellow Submarine last summer for €5.5 million (£4 million), but the young striker has caught the eye of many top clubs after a debut La Liga season in which he has netted 12 times, per WhoScored.com.
One of the clubs reportedly interested is Barcelona, who supposedly may look to sign Vietto when their transfer ban is lifted in January 2016, per Mundo Deportivo (h/t Dermot Corrigan on ESPN FC).

Unsurprisingly, the youngster was not ruling out such a possibility, and the chance to join up with Argentine superstar Messi is clearly a big draw for Vietto, per Ole (h/t GianlucaDiMarzio.com):
"The whole world dreams of playing alongside to Lionel Messi, it would be a dream come true. If we've met? Yes, the truth is that it was something unique. He's a great person and among all the nice things he did was that he gave me his shirt. It's a moment that I will have in my heart for the rest of my life.
"
A potential move to the Camp Nou is not completely out of the question for Vietto by any means, as they may be soon on the lookout for a replacement for Pedro.
The Spanish forward has become unsettled at the Camp Nou and is now playing second fiddle to Luis Suarez. The most recent reports suggest that Pedro will be allowed to leave Barcelona in the summer, per Adrian Kajumba in the Mirror.
As Spanish football writer Sergi Dominguez notes, Vietto is terrific value for a player of such quality, and he would clearly be open to a move:
However, Barca are not the only outfit with whom Vietto has been linked. Premier League clubs Arsenal and Liverpool have also been cited as potential suitors, per Sport Witness:
Vietto moved to La Liga from Argentina's Racing Club, where he spent time as a charge of Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone, a man whom the youngster clearly respects and who he would be eager to join up with in the future, per Ole (h/t Marca): "Maybe time will reunite us at another club, but if that doesn't happen, I'll always have the fondest memories of working with him [Simeone]. He's a very capable coach."
If Vietto continues to perform at such a high level, he will no doubt be snapped up by one of the big European clubs who are already reportedly interested in him.
First things first, though, he will surely be hoping to help Villarreal qualify for European football next season, as they currently lie a comfortable sixth in La Liga.
