WWE Armchair Booking: How to Maximize Neville's Arrival on Main Roster
Capable of performing moves one would think only possible in video games, Neville is a tremendous talent and an exciting addition to WWE's main roster.
Fans know to be cautiously optimistic about his career now that he has left NXT for WWE proper, though. The company has a history of ignoring and underutilizing smaller wrestlers.
Instead of turning him into a comedy act or the next Evan Bourne, the focus should be on portraying him as a pit bull of the squared circle.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
It's not clear why WWE felt the need to ditch his first name (Adrian) and adorn him with a purple cape, but none of that will matter if he is given a good story and quality rivals and is made to look dangerous, not just stunningly athletic.
To properly set all that up, WWE Creative should pen some frustrations for him at first and use the audience's real-life doubts about what he's capable of to ignite his persona.
A Lack of Respect
Neville can begin his career with a modest winning streak. He follows his victory over Curtis Axel on Monday's Raw with wins over Fandango and Adam Rose.
After dispatching WWE's bottom feeders, he approaches Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, asking for a bigger challenge. He says he wants to face the best WWE has to offer. The Authority dismisses him.
While chuckling, McMahon asks, "What are you, 5'9''?"

In his matches following that meeting, he shows off a more aggressive side of his game. He kicks opponents in the knees rather than allowing a clean break from the ropes. He puts his boot down on foes' throats right up until the referee counts to five.
He adds knocking off Luke Harper and Mark Henry to his resume before stepping up to John Cena. Neville asks for a title shot, but Cena refuses him.
"You're not ready to face me yet," Cena tells him.

On the next Raw, he asks McMahon to book him in a match that will help him prove to Cena and his doubters that he's a worthy challenger. She says she will give him an appropriate opponent. He then waits in the ring, ready for a fight, when El Torito appears.
Neville is incensed. He leaves the ring after the bell rings. When the referee tells him to get back inside, Neville throws him into the guardrail.
The British Legion Forms
When we see Neville next, he has a posse in tow.
Cena is celebrating a win when unfamiliar music comes on. Bad News Barrett, Neville and Paige stomp down the entrance ramp. They step into the ring with the U.S. champ, who asks, "What's this all about?"
Paige answers with a superkick to Cena's jaw. Barrett pounces on him, battering him with right hands. Neville follows up with Red Arrow.
Barrett announces that these three Brits have joined forces because no one has given them the proper respect. He hasn't received the Intercontinental Championship chances that he's deserved, while WWE is giving Divas other than Paige the spotlight and has continually ignored Neville's accomplishments.
"We're going to take what is rightfully ours rather than sit around and wait for WWE to hand it to us," Barrett says.
This storyline gives Neville a faction to help introduce him and aids him in the mic-work department, as Barrett can carry the load there. Barrett and Neville can team up at times or simply watch each other's backs.
And while Barrett seeks out Cena's title and Paige looks to become Divas champ again, Neville can set his sights on Daniel Bryan.
Battles with Bryan
In lieu of a cruiserweight division, a smart way to maximize Neville's talents is to have him face some of WWE's smaller, more athletic stars.
Bryan fits that description and would be a good fit as a rival. Considering how much technical prowess and high-flying skill both men have, chances are they'll create magic much like Dynamite Kid and Tiger Mask did together years ago.
WWE's goal should be to showcase how tough and skilled Neville is while also making Bryan look like a formidable champion.

Their story begins when Neville upsets Sheamus to win a No. 1 contender's tournament. Neville spends much of the match attacking Sheamus' legs, wearing him down. When it's over, Sheamus has trouble standing.
Neville asks for his title shot on the next edition of SmackDown. He and Bryan go a full 30 minutes. The bell rings; the referee calls the match a draw.
Bryan tries to move on to other competitors in the next few weeks, but Neville, Barrett and Paige take out each man who tries to face the IC champ. The British Legion ambushes men like Dolph Ziggler, leaves them lying and promises to continue doing so until Neville gets a second crack.
Bryan eventually agrees, saying that he will prove beyond a doubt that he is the better wrestler. He calls for them to have a best-of-five series.
This format allows Neville to get a few wins but for Bryan to remain champ. Should Bryan survive a tough test, he and the belt will look good in the process.
Neville will benefit from the quality matches that are sure to come out of this and by pushing the champ. He can then move forward with some momentum, as he and his crew look for other Superstars to encircle.
