WWE WrestleMania 31: Full Results and Superstars with Most Momentum for 2015

Chris RolingMar 31, 2015

The future is now for WWE after WrestleMania 31.

A former NXT champion just pulled off one of the most jaw-dropping moments in WrestleMania history to steal the promotion's top title. A wealth of young competitors are hot after a pair of secondary titles now more elevated than ever in the modern era.

Even some of Sunday's losers still look strong and seem to have promising years in front of them.

Rusev

Good news—wins and losses aren't such a big deal in WWE.

Rusev entered WrestleMania with the WWE United States Championship and left without it. But in the process, he took John Cena to the brink. Not the cliche "brink" most heels do either so John Cena can overcome the odds—he only lost because of a distraction.

In the grand scheme of things, losing to the most popular guy in the company after running roughshod with an undefeated streak—and not even losing clean, per se—isn't so bad.

Never mind the fact the man entered the arena on a tank:

WWE doesn't just dish out major entrances for anyone. Heck, all John Cena got was some patriotic hoo-rah video. No soldiers or props, just one mean chant and the usual towel.

Big things rest in Rusev's future. His storyline with Lana is budding and it's clear he can play the dominant heel or fan favorite if booked right.

While it started with a loss, the year of Rusev is just getting underway.

Daniel Bryan

An ability to overcome six other Superstars to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship, including a handful of fellow main-event-caliber names, bodes well for Daniel Bryan's 2015 campaign.

Perhaps the most recognizable full-time employee not named John Cena at this point, Bryan's big win captured the attention of the globe, including ESPN:

The list of potential contenders for Bryan's strap is endless. Dolph Ziggler, Dean Ambrose, a healthy Sheamus and perhaps Rusev or Bray Wyatt are just the beginning of the possibilities.

At the same time, there's nothing to suggest Bryan won't be back in the race for the company's top belt by this time next year, either.

So long as Bryan's healthy, he might finally win his Royal Rumble match and move on to greater things. For now, Bryan will elevate his current title, but moving forward few Superstars will be hotter than him in 2015.

Seth Rollins

Say hello to the biggest Superstar of 2015.

Seth Rollins' decision to cash in his Money in the Bank contract during a violent, bloody exchange between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar in the main event of WrestleMania speaks for itself.

Always billed as a smart heel, the decision and ensuing result meshes well with the same guy who crafted The Shield and then destroyed it.

WWE needed a surprise ending to keep Brock Lesnar looking strong and buy more time for Roman Reigns to develop after a rush job of a push, so Rollins was the obvious wild card. He's also the well-spoken, always-available Superstar to represent the company outside of the ring:

While a beatable heel in comparison to Brock Lesnar, Rollins figures to hold the strap for quite a while as he plays keep away with the rest of the roster hot on his tail.

Rollins' character is built for such an angle. His in-ring work already flirts with tops in company and he's great on the mic, too, so the summer of Rollins and beyond seems underway.
