Real Madrid Transfer News: Radamel Falcao Sparks United Exit Rumours on Twitter
The minutiae of footballers' lives are examined in such forensic detail in the modern game. Indeed, a brief instance of social media activity from Radamel Falcao could have provided an indication of where the Colombian will be playing his football next season.
As noted by Samuel Luckhurst of the Manchester Evening News, the on-loan Manchester United striker followed the Real Madrid account on Twitter but has since unfollowed the Spanish giants.
While it seems an innocuous move, the Colombian has long been linked with transfer to the Santiago Bernabeu club, per Rob Draper of the Mail On Sunday.

Falcao enjoyed an exceptional two-year spell with Los Blancos’ city rivals Atletico Madrid. Here are some of his best moments from his time in La Liga:
As noted by Luckhurst, after a difficult time of things with the Red Devils while on loan from Monaco, United look unlikely to activate the player’s whopping £43.2 million release clause.
But given how he has previously thrived in the Spanish top flight, perhaps the European champions may consider bringing him back to La Liga.

Is it misguided to add credence to potential speculation on the back of what could easily be an innocent quip while browsing social media? Perhaps. But as noted by Spanish football expert M.A.J., Falcao has a precedent for making similar moves in the past, hinting at things that have eventually come to fruition:
"Falcao followed RMCF's twitter account but then unfollowed. Well this isn't the 1st time he's done something similar. pic.twitter.com/dWUTzcnon2

If Real could potentially rekindle the goalscoring prowess that once made Falcao the most feared No. 9 on the planet, then he’d be a wonderful acquisition.
However, during his time at United, the Colombian has sadly looked a shadow of the formidable force he once was; you suspect the serious knee injury suffered last season has much to do with that.

But speaking with Radio Caracol (h/t Joe Strange of MailOnline) while away on international duty with Colombia, Falcao insisted he’s yet to give up on the Red Devils dream quite yet despite reported interest from Juventus:
"Juventus looking for me? They talk a lot, but now I'm focused 100 per cent on Manchester United
Before the end of the season there are some crucial matches and I hope that this situation will change.
"

Falcao's attitude has been unwaveringly admirable during these tough times, but at the age of 29, you wonder whether the player will ever fully recover from that debilitating injury.
Granted, the forward is never someone who has been wholly reliant on pace, but that burst over five yards and rounded physicality that enhanced his clinical edge seem to have abated during his time in the Premier League.
The slower tempo of La Liga would surely be more favourable than English football for rediscovering his clinical instincts, but Real’s current front line is centred on pace, power and remarkable incision on the counter-attack.
At the moment, Falcao simply doesn’t comply with the club’s ethos, and as such, it would be a major surprise to see Los Blancos pursue a transfer.
