WWE WrestleMania 31: Latest Predictions Including Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns

Anthony MangoMar 27, 2015

WWE WrestleMania 31 will be here Sunday, so there isn't much time left to get in your predictions for what you think is going to happen at the big show.

Will Roman Reigns be able to dethrone the virtually unstoppable Brock Lesnar to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship?

Is John Cena the right man to fight for America's honor? Can he be the first person to make the United States champion Rusev submit or lie down for a three count?

How will WWE book the return of The Undertaker along with the debut of one of the biggest icons to have never wrestled in WWE with Sting?

With all of the men participating in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, the Intercontinental Championship ladder match and the Tag Team Championship match, who will be the four men that can stand tall above the rest?

A lot is undoubtedly set to go down at the biggest pay-per-view of the year, so let's take a closer look at some of the results that could end up coming to fruition.

Pre-Show Kickoff WWE Tag Team Championship Fatal 4-Way Match

1 of 9

Over the past few years, there have been multiple pre-shows for WrestleMania featuring The Usos, The Colons and either Tyson Kidd or Cesaro fighting for the WWE Tag Team Championship.

It's a bizarre statistic, but it goes to show that there is a consistency in WWE, even on a subconscious level.

The reason to bring this is up is because every single tag team title match at WrestleMania since 2001 has ended with the current champions retaining.

The last time the Tag Team Championship changed hands was at WrestleMania 17 when Edge and Christian defeated The Dudley Boyz and The Hardy Boyz in their TLC match.

For that fact alone, there should be no reason why anyone should assume anything other than Kidd and Cesaro retaining their titles here at WrestleMania 31.

On top of this, Los Matadores are the jobbers in the division, The New Day has failed to get over with crowds and one half of The Usos is injured going into this match.

Without a doubt, Kidd and Cesaro will find a way to come out on top.

Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal

2 of 9

For the second year in a row, WWE has decided to throw everyone that doesn't seem to be worthy of their own segment into the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

You can debate whether this is a good thing or a bad thing, but what's not up for debate is that WWE needs to make sure it actually means something this time around.

Last year, the match was won by Cesaro. The trophy was promptly destroyed by Jack Swagger and after teaming up with Paul Heyman, Cesaro's push went nowhere.

Looking at the list of competitors in this match for 2015, there aren't too many names that stand out as people that WWE would invest the proper time into.

Ryback's story is a perpetual stop-and-start push where he cannot win the big matches. Erick Rowan went on his own and has been used as a jobber ever since. As far as people like Goldust and Zack Ryder, they have no chance, of course.

There really seems to be only three options for this year's winner. The logical top choice is a man who hasn't even been announced for it: Sheamus. He's supposed to make his return and winning this could help propel him back into the upper midcard scene.

If we are sticking to the people already announced, then this should go to either Damien Sandow or The Miz, as the feud between the two of them has been the most noteworthy thing going into this match.

The Bella Twins vs. AJ Lee and Paige

3 of 9

The #GiveDivasAChance movement looks to have failed—instead of having a Fatal 4-Way for the WWE Divas Championship, the women are saddled with a generic tag team bout at WrestleMania.

This is a match that would be filler on an episode of Monday Night Raw, let alone at the biggest PPV of the year.

It's a shame, as all four of these women are talented, but it's undoubtedly going to be a bathroom break buffer segment between two more important things.

If there's any consolation to this news, it's the possibility that we could see someone turn on their tag team partner.

Seeing as how there was no resolution to the Brie Bella vs. Nikki Bella feud, could this be the start of going back to that and continuing their program?

AJ Lee and Paige have been at each others' throats before, and it was teased that there is still tension between them, so one of them could be turning heel, as well.

Since WrestleMania is a time where a lot of babyfaces win, the smart money is on AJ Lee and Paige to be victorious, but that's far from written in stone.

Randy Orton vs. Seth Rollins

4 of 9

Months ago, Randy Orton and Seth Rollins were butting heads while they were both members of The Authority.

It's taken a long time to get back to that story, but now that it's WrestleMania season, it seems as perfect a time as any to settle the score, right?

The build for this feud could have been much better and was hurt somewhat due to the awkward beat down a few weeks ago, but that doesn't mean that the match can't still be rather good.

Orton has had a midcard spot on several WrestleManias over the past few years and Rollins will finally be getting a chance to go solo rather than being involved in a multi-man tag team match of some sort with his Shield brethren.

Naturally, these two will look to steal the show just as everyone else does and with the track record that Rollins has going for him, that could very well happen.

The relative winning streak that Rollins has been on, though, needs to take a detour here.

While it can be argued that Orton can bounce back from a loss, there isn't really much for Rollins to gain out of a win in comparison to Orton.

The Viper has been on the shelf for a long time and could use this victory to up his credibility, while Rollins has nothing to worry about and has the Money in the Bank contract to keep him at the forefront of the roster.

Look for an RKO out of nowhere to end what will be a hard fought loss for Rollins.

Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match

5 of 9

Although there are seven men fighting for the Intercontinental Championship ladder match at WrestleMania this year, it's pretty easy to rule out the majority of them.

Stardust, Luke Harper and R-Truth are there to take some damage, do some spots and that's about it.

What this boils down to is whether Bad News Barrett retains or WWE wishes to take the title in a new direction by placing it on one of the top upper midcard babyfaces.

Logic would dictate that Daniel Bryan is the smartest choice if the title is meant to be given an upgrade in value, as he's without a doubt the biggest star among this crew, but he isn't the only option, either.

A feud between Bryan and Dolph Ziggler has been teased for a while and if including Bryan in the title hunt is a priority, Ziggler could easily be the one defending the belt.

Then again, Dean Ambrose is one of the most popular stars in the company today in his own right and has been pushed aside for far too long. This could be WWE's opportunity to fix that and give him a decent reign with a quality championship.

This will likely be one of the best matches of the night and considering the possibilities that could come out of it, everyone should be paying a lot of attention to what's about to go down.

United States Championship: Rusev vs. John Cena

6 of 9

After nearly a year of being on the main roster, Rusev remains relatively undefeated, having only lost tag team matches or by count out or disqualification.

Try all they might, nobody has been able to pin him or make him submit—until now.

It will upset a lot of people that are sick and tired of seeing a repeat of what has been seen for years, but John Cena is going to end up defeating Rusev at WrestleMania.

Yes, it's another "lol Cena wins" scenario, but WWE has proven time and time again that nobody cares about that within the company, even if the fans threaten to riot.

All the signs point to Rusev dropping the title here. It's another story of Cena fighting back against the odds, but it also has patriotic implications.

Vince McMahon is a staunch supporter of American pride, and there's almost no way that The Bulgarian Brute would be booked to beat WWE's golden boy and former star of The Marine at the biggest show of the year.

The question isn't whether Cena will win, it's how he will win. Does Rusev tap out to the STF or does Cena pin him after one or two Attitude Adjustments?

One way or another, the United States Championship will be a focal point as it rests on Cena's shoulder after this Sunday.

The Undertaker vs. Bray Wyatt

7 of 9

It seemed impossible that The Undertaker could lose at WrestleMania, but Brock Lesnar did what nobody else was able to do before him and completely changed the landscape of The Phenom's legacy.

Now that he has been defeated, it's no longer a necessity for him to win. There's no streak on the line and as such, Bray Wyatt could be the next person to hand The Undertaker a loss.

That being said, The Undertaker needs to win this match much more than Wyatt does.

Wyatt will get a boost just for being in this feud whereas The Undertaker needs to recoup after last year's loss and get himself back on track.

The quality of this match is up in the air, as it could be amazing or a train wreck, depending on the time it's given, the chemistry these two have together, The Undertaker's health and Wyatt's ability to hang with the veteran.

If there's anything to place your bets down on, it's that The Undertaker will probably be victorious here as a means to make up for his embarrassment at WrestleMania 30.

Sting vs. Triple H

8 of 9

After 14 years, Sting is finally going to compete in a WWE ring, which is something fans have been anticipating ever since the great Monday Night Wars.

WCW may be dead, but The Icon has been keeping in shape and looks better at 56 years old than most people do who are 10 years younger.

Your mileage may vary as to whether or not Triple H is the guy you would like to see Sting face, but regardless, this is definitely going to be one of the most featured main events of the evening.

Although no stipulation has been attached to this match, it can be assumed that it will operate under some sort of gimmick where no disqualifications will take place.

That could be a big difference maker in the battle between the bat and the sledgehammer, but even if The Authority attempts to interfere on Triple H's behalf, it shouldn't change the outcome of the fight.

There's no way Sting comes into WWE and loses his first match, especially at WrestleMania against one of the biggest heels on the roster.

Double down on your bets that Sting will likely win this match with a Scorpion Deathlock, making Triple H tap out to make an even more emphatic statement against his bullying.

WWE World Heavyweight Championship: Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns

9 of 9

If there is any match on the card that has an unpredictability factor working for it, it's the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match.

Months ago, it seemed like a foregone conclusion that Roman Reigns would simply tame The Beast and walk away with the title, but that doesn't seem as much of a given anymore.

With the announcement that Brock Lesnar has not only re-signed with WWE for a multiyear deal but also closed the doors on returning to the world of MMA, there's more of a reason than ever to believe that he could retain the title.

Speculation has risen that the United States and Intercontinental Championships could be elevated to compensate for the world champion not appearing all too often.

If that's the case, that implies that Lesnar is holding the belt, as Reigns would be available to defend it on a much more frequent basis.

On top of this, Reigns has not been embraced by the audience in the way WWE would have liked, so the creative team might be hesitant to trust that booking him as the champion is the best way to go.

There's still a chance that Reigns wins the title, but while it was essentially a guarantee for a long while, it's now shrouded in so much doubt that it is no longer the easy bet.

This could go either way or even involve a cash in from Seth Rollins, but as of right now, it seems that Lesnar is going to prove once again just how dominant he can be.

What do you think is going to happen at WrestleMania? Do you agree or disagree with these predictions?
