Undertaker and Sting Must Come Face to Face at WWE WrestleMania 31
The Undertaker and Sting may be involved two separate feuds and will compete in two different matches at WWE’s WrestleMania 31, but by the end of the night, the two legends of the ring must come face to face.
Undertaker needs to fight Sting at WrestleMania 32, and building to the match for an entire year is the proper way to book one of the biggest bouts in wrestling history.
One of the most important reasons behind letting the two men stand toe-to-toe at some point at WrestleMania 31 is that this year’s pay-per-view extravaganza needs a huge moment that fans can latch onto.

There is a large contingent of the WWE Universe that doesn’t like Roman Reigns, so the main event won’t satisfy a portion of the fanbase. For those who don't approve of the booking for the main event, witnessing Sting and Undertaker set the stage for next year will be the unforgettable moment they will be looking for.
Undertaker is the quintessential WWE Superstar. He stuck it out with the company through hard times and gimmick changes but has always been one of the pillars of the company.
On the other hand, Sting was the franchise player in WCW. The two men have never crossed paths in their current roles, and a showdown between two of the icons from the Attitude Era—and wrestling in general—would be enough to bring wrestling fans of all age brackets and demographics back to WWE.
What makes this pairing so perfect is the supernatural background of their characters.
Undertaker is an undead creature who uses lightning and scary music to strike fear into the hearts of his opponents.
In the same vein, Sting routinely makes ominous appearances in the rafters and uses light play to show up in the ring out of nowhere. The characters have always been associated with each other by the fans, and this is the match the majority of the WWE Universe has been waiting to see for well over a decade.
Just like boxing fans are finally getting Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, wrestling fans should get the chance to see Undertaker vs. Sting at WrestleMania 32. Just like Mayweather vs. Pacquiao, however, this bout should have taken place at least five years ago. Regardless, the fans will be genuinely excited to finally see the action.
When WrestleMania 31 takes place on Sunday, March 29, Undertaker will be 50 years old and Sting will be 56. Both men have proved in the past that they are still physically able to carry a match if needed, but the two Superstars must square off soon.
There is no question that at their advanced ages, an injury could result in a long recovery that jeopardizes the match. Teasing a match for WrestleMania 32 would give both men a year to get healthy and prepare mentally and physically for the battle in 2016.
What makes this situation perfect for the WWE is the ability to build this match for an entire year. Just as the company promoted The Rock vs. John Cena for 365 days, teasing Undertaker vs. Sting at the end of this year’s PPV sets the stage for an entire year of excitement and anticipation about what the fans can expect.
Add in the fact that next year’s WrestleMania will be in Dallas, and letting the two men come toe-to-toe now would be perfect booking. The company will do its best to sell out AT&T stadium and set the WrestleMania attendance record, and the fact that both Undertaker and Sting live in Texas makes the situation all the more perfect.
Wrestling fans have wanted to see Undertaker and Sting square off in the ring for years, and at WrestleMania 31, the WWE should finally begin teasing the marquee battle. A year is a long time to wait, but it will be worth it for a match of this magnitude.
