Manchester United Transfer News: Latest Gareth Bale and Danny Ings Rumours
Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale has been much maligned by the Santiago Bernabeu crowd as of late, and subsequently, the Welshman is apparently keen on making a return to the Premier League this summer, provided the offer is suitable for him.
That’s according to Dean Jones of the Sunday Mirror, who claims that while the Los Blancos star is willing to stick it out in Spain to win over the doubters, the prospect of a move to Manchester United is “hugely tempting” for the former Tottenham Hotspur man.
Here’s a look at some of Bale’s best moments since his move to La Liga:

Bale has been criticised heavily in recent weeks following a string of poor performances for Real. The swagger hasn’t been there as of late for the Welshman, but to isolate him as the sole reason for this team’s plight—as noted by Jones’ piece, many Madridistas already have, given their persistent jeering of the Welshman—would be wholly naive.

As noted by Oliver Kay of The Times recently, Bale—who scored winning goals in both the Copa del Rey final and Champions League final during his first season in the iconic all-white strip—could return to the Premier League knowing he was a success in Spain:
But is talk of a potential switch to United a little premature? Real Madrid President Florentino Perez has been wholly supportive of the 25-year-old, claiming that Bale is “one of the best players in the world,” per Liam Corless of the Daily Mirror, while Carlo Ancelotti’s belief in the player is evident by the fact he’s consistently playing him each week.
As noted by the Welshman’s team-mate Luka Modric, it’s not just Bale’s fault this team is struggling, per SocialRMadrid:

United would love to have Bale, and according to Jones’ piece, the player has always been interested by a potential switch to the Red Devils. The prospect of the Welshman scorching his way up and down the Old Trafford pitch is a tantalising one, and Louis van Gaal’s side would be one of a select few teams that could potentially afford Bale’s services.

But Bale should stick it out in Spain. He’s been unashamed and unrelenting in his admittance that he’s delighted to be at Real Madrid, while the notoriously fickle fans at the Bernabeu will surely be won back over once the Welshman discovers his devastating best.
Nonetheless, the Old Trafford faithful will be hoping to see Bale link up with a clutch of their current stars, including Angel Di Maria. Rumours have persisted about the future of the latter, with reports suggesting that he's unsettled in Manchester, per David McDonnell of the Sunday Mirror.

But Louis van Gaal has moved quickly to abate those potential murmurings by insisting the Argentine will be going nowhere, per the club's official website:
"But I don't think he shall move. In spite of this incident, that he had with his wife at his home, he is very pleased to be here at Manchester United. I think he shall stay because of what I have seen with his reaction following the defeat and his red card, it has been very good. I like his attitude.
"

Incomings look as though they'll be very much the order of the day for this United squad, and if Bale isn’t available, United may well pursue other players as they look to bolster their options in the summer.
According to Paul Hetherington of the Daily Star, the Red Devils could be poised to pick up Danny Ings from Burnley on a free transfer at the end of the season, with the club viewing him as a better alternative to £46 million-rated Radamel Falcao.
As noted by WhoScored.com, Ings is enjoying a wonderful 2015 with the Clarets:
According to Hetherington, Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool are all in the running to sign the forward, but he looks poised to make the switch to Old Trafford. On a free transfer, it’s a move that represents a no-brainer for United, as Van Gaal needs to add some endeavour to what has been a rank forward line so far this season.

As noted by Sky Sports News HQ, it’s been a tough season for the Red Devils’ illustrious crop of centre-forward players:
Ings may not have the gravitas to compare with names like Falcao, Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney, but he’s a hungry young player with malleable talents and an underpinning ruthlessness in front of goal. If Van Gaal can get him to Old Trafford, then there is plenty there to work with.
The challenge that faces Ings, should he move, is nailing down regular first-team football. At the moment, a player of his endeavour and intensity would waltz into this ponderous United forward line, but with the Red Devils poised to spend big again in the summer window, you suspect the Burnley man will hang fire before plotting his next move.
