After going just 4-14 in conference play during the regular season, Auburn has reeled off three consecutive wins during its Cinderella run to the semis. Bowers has been a big part of that, especially the Tigers' quarterfinal triumph over LSU in which he registered seven points and 10 rebounds.
Bowers is averaging over 12 points and nearly 10 rebounds per game this season, while no other player on the roster is hauling in even four rebounds per contest.
As pointed out by Kyle Tucker of The Courier-Journal, that widens the gap between Auburn and a long Wildcats team:
Auburn beating Kentucky would undoubtedly be the biggest upset of the 2014-15 college basketball season, and Bowers being out of the equation solidifies that.
Regardless of Bowers' status, though, it is tough to envision the Wildcats allowing their perfect season to go by the wayside against a team of Auburn's caliber.
