What Grade Would You Give Sting's WWE Theme Song?
After nearly 14 years of waiting, Sting graced a WWE television program by appearing at the Survivor Series pay-per-view, giving Triple H a Scorpion Death Drop and assisting Dolph Ziggler in dethroning The Authority.
While many felt that whispers of his joining the company were as speculative as other rumors spread throughout the years, the pinch was real: Sting is here.
To many people's disapproval, the music was not like his uber-popular "Crow" theme, which told a story of a man who had to resort to a dark place as a result of spending years defending a cause that was not defending him. His quest to save WCW was received with anyone doubting his membership in the invasive New World Order faction.

However, even he was ousted by many members of the WCW roster, he still strongly felt the need to fight for good, even if he was going to be alone. This prompted the advent of The Crow character, a complete change from the high-energy California stud to a dark, calculated vigilante.
Sting's theme songs have always been some of the most memorable. During his surfer days in the late '80s, he had a very electric, heavy, guitar-themed song which fit well with his exciting character and was well-received by the fans.
When WCW started putting an emphasis on having vocal theme songs in the early '90s, "The Man Called Sting" was born, which described the fan favorite from Venice Beach:
"He does this, he does that
"
He's big as a bull, and quick as a cat
He looksfine, he looks cool
He's his own man, and he's nobody's fool
Don't double cross him, or get in his way
Cause if you do, you're gonna have to pay.
The Crow theme had no words but spoke volumes. It became arguably his most popular theme song and helped carve out the persona that he has kept ever since (with, of course, some minor tweaks).
Now, at WWE, he has a theme song that illustrates his Crow gimmick, with the typical Jim Johnston flavor to it. Known as "The Vigilante," the chords of this theme song rekindle the amazing mystique that he exhibited at the beginning of his character change, which was heavily diluted over his 10-year affiliation with the Total Nonstop Action brand.
Personally, I love the theme. I could understand why many people would have negative reviews, mainly because WWE decided to go its own route by giving him a brand-new theme that only faintly resembles the ones that helped make him the legend he is today.
Despite this, I have absolutely no complaints, and similar to Goldberg's revision of his WCW theme, I think WWE hit this one out of the park.
