Manchester United Transfer News: Angel Di Maria Value Drops Amid PSG Bid Rumours
Manchester United will reportedly lose £10 million if they decide to sell Angel Di Maria during the summer, according to David McDonnell of the Mirror.
McDonnell states that Di Maria and his family have "failed to settle" in Manchester. He claims that the Argentinian's wife "has refused to return" to their Cheshire-based property after an attempted break-in, with their home having since been put on the market for £4.1 million.
Combine this with poor form on the pitch, and McDonnell suggests that Paris Saint-Germain are "keen" to land the former Real Madrid star.

English newspapers recently underlined the story that Di Maria will be sold, per Nick Sutton of BBC Radio 4 and B/R UK:
United paid £59.7 million for Di Maria during the summer, a British record fee. This initially appeared to be something of a bargain, with the 27-year-old making an instant impact. He scored three goals and assisted four in six matches, per WhoScored.com, but his production has stalled since he suffered a hamstring injury at the end of November.

He has netted just once and set up four goals in the 18 matches since that initial burst of form, but most worryingly, he appears to have lost his confidence on the ball. Di Maria has struggled to complete basic tasks on the pitch—overhitting simple passes, dribbling directly into traffic and looking lost alongside his team-mates.
Louis van Gaal has noticed. He substituted Di Maria at half-time during the recent win over Sunderland, then sacrificed him with half an hour to go during victory against Newcastle United last time out. United secured both winners when he wasn't on the pitch, with replacement Adnan Januzaj impressing in the former fixture.
The boss recently said, "we have to give him time, not just Di Maria but all the players," per David Anderson of the Mirror. "We wait and see." Van Gaal expects his new signings to settle after "one year."

B/R UK's Guillem Balague recently suggested that Van Gaal's constantly changing tactics could be behind Di Maria's poor form:
"The talk is Di Maria’s head is not right at the moment. Mentally, he is not in a good place, and there are people alleging the major reason for that falls squarely on the manager’s desk.
Di Maria’s strengths come when he operates from midfield and creates attacks from deep, yet he has instead found himself moved from pillar to post, playing more often than not in a central position and even as a striker.
"

The pacey winger-turned-central midfielder is still likely to make an appearance during United's FA Cup quarter-final against Arsenal on Monday. He was key to victory at the Emirates Stadium, where he led a devastating counter-attack alongside Wayne Rooney. With Rooney recently returning to his preferred striking position, Van Gaal may decide to push Di Maria closer to the Englishman once more.
This could be particularly key if Per Mertesacker starts for the Gunners. His lack of speed has been exploited in recent weeks and ensures Arsenal have to defend deep to avoid being caught out. Di Maria needs a top performance to reignite his Old Trafford career and should still be outlined as a potential match-winner for the Red Devils.
United fans will be hoping he will soon make a sustained impact similar to the one we saw at the start of the season. There's no doubting his talent—even on a poor day, Di Maria can be expected to create at least one opening—but he needs to deliver in the big matches. Sending United to Wembley would be the perfect answer to his critics and perhaps add that £10 million back to his price tag.
