WWE's Top Tweets, Instagram Photos and Viral Videos for Week of February 23

Ryan DilbertFeb 27, 2015

WWE social media was the home of issued challenges as February came to a close.

Seth Rollins called out Jon Stewart again but this time from a more uncomfortable distance. Zack Ryder and Adam Rose grumbled at each other via Twitter, teasing a future collision. Meanwhile, AJ Lee challenged Stephanie McMahon and WWE to start giving its women some decent opportunities for a change.

The playful rivalry between Stewart and Rollins began last week when Mr. Money in the Bank dissed the host of The Daily Show on Raw. Stewart responded with a funny wrestling-style monologue.

The next time they exchanged words, it was face-to-face.

Rollins invaded the set of The Daily Show welcoming Stewart to come to next week's Raw. Both Comedy Central and WWE shared the clip of worlds colliding on YouTube:

Stewart didn't decline the invite, so maybe we do see this angle blossom.

Rose and Ryder have to hope that their online squabbling gets them some time on Monday's show as well. Both men have been little-used on TV, Ryder even more so than Rose. That hasn't stopped them from looking for a fight.

Fans who follow either Superstar saw these two fling a variety of insults at each other on Twitter:

Ryder's buddy John Cena needs no online feud in order to get airtime. While Roman Reigns is WWE's crown prince, and Daniel Bryan is arguably the most beloved grappler on the roster, Cena remains the face of the company.

That includes when he represents WWE on a tour of Google or heads to Facebook headquarters. WWE caught a visually striking shot of him at the home of Facebook:

That description is also apt for an Instagram photo of Stardust that WWE posted. In an image that captures his increasingly dark persona perfectly, red lights cover his face, and he glares menacingly at whoever may be looking:

Another wrestler famous for his face paint has been a key part of the early build to WrestleMania.

At Fastlane, Sting challenged Triple H to face him at the marquee event. It's not as if The Game had a choice, as The Stinger had a baseball bat pressed against his throat. Now that the match is official, the WWE production team has already begun its work.

WWE put together an excellent video chronicling Sting's WCW career:

It's a work of art that serves as a precursor to a match that wouldn't have seemed possible even a year ago. Whether it's a dream match or not is debatable, but the clash certainly gets one thinking about unlikely meetings of stars.

In a new "5 Things" video, Tom Phillips take fans through some dream matches that they may not realize actually happened, such as Randy Savage vs. Shawn Michaels.

A recent bold move from Lee may eventually lead to a dream matchup of sorts between her and McMahon. At the very least, it spearheaded the #GiveDivasAChance movement that was erupting on Twitter.

After Paige, Emma and The Bella Twins had just 30 seconds to work with on Monday's Raw, the Internet was flush with frustration over WWE's treatment of its women's division.

Lee summed up those feelings perfectly when she tweeted:

Hats off to Lee for being that forthright and that daring to say that to one of her bosses. There have to be more than a few people reading her words wishing they had the stones to speak up like that.

Monday's Raw will be an indication of how the company intends to respond to that message by its actions. It could also be Stewart's first trip to the nutty world of pro wrestling, one he clearly is a fan of.
