Tyler ConwayFeb 18, 2015

A day after he was released by the Green Bay Packers, tight end Brandon Bostick has committed to knocking them off their NFC North perch. Bostick has landed with the division rival Minnesota Vikings after the team claimed him on waivers.

Mike Garafolo of Fox Sports first reported the news. They will assume his league minimum $585,000 salary should he make the final roster. Bostick commented on the move on his own Twitter account.

Bostick, 25, spent his first three NFL seasons in Green Bay. Utilized mostly as a backup tight end and on special teams, Bostick became infamous during the Packers' NFC Championship Game loss to the Seattle Seahawks when he muffed an onside kick. The Seahawks would score on the ensuing drive and go on to win the game in overtime before losing to the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLIX.

Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer commented on Bostick and even joked about the infamous play, via Matt Vensel of the Star Tribune:

Green Bay officially released Bostick on Tuesday, a day after he tweeted about receiving the word from the team. Bostick had nine receptions for 123 yards and a touchdown during his three seasons.

The Vikings will very likely look to him to help on special teams and as a backup behind Kyle Rudolph if he makes the team.
