2020 ICC World Twenty20 to Be Held in Australia
The ICC World Twenty20 event will be hosted by Australia in 2020.
David Richardson, the International Cricket Council chief executive, announced on Tuesday that both New Zealand and Australia would host the major tournament, per the Australian Associated Press, via The Sydney Morning Herald. However, in an interesting twist, the Black Caps Twitter feed revealed that wasn't completely true:

"It's an honour to be hosting a global event on behalf of the ICC," said James Sutherland, the CEO of Cricket Australia. "What makes it special is the tournaments have come few and far between, which adds to the excitement and the level of anticipation for this event."
The last time Australia hosted a major cricket event was at the 1992 World Cup, when they co-hosted with New Zealand. The team will be hoping for a better showing this time around, as they bowed out in the round-robin stage last time.
Of course, waiting until 2020 to see how the Oceanic nation fares as a host won't be necessary. Australia and New Zealand are co-hosting the 2015 World Cup, which is set to begin on Feb. 14 in Melbourne and Christchurch.
