Texas A&M Football Recruiting: Predictions for Top Rumored 2015 Prospects
With national signing day in immediate focus, Texas A&M's football program is wrapping up another star-studded class.
A somewhat regressive season in 2014 hasn't done much to spurn the Aggies' momentum in the recruiting trail, as head coach Kevin Sumlin has his team ranked 12th in the most recent 247Sports team rankings. But as is the case with most programs this time of year, a number of notable recruits loom with their futures still very much up in the air.
Let's take a look at some of Texas A&M's most recognizable recruits lighting up the airwaves of late, and where they will land.
Daylon Mack, Defensive Tackle

With one in-state powerhouse program eliminated, it's seemingly down to Texas A&M and TCU for coveted 5-star defensive tackle Daylon Mack.
According to 247Sports' Texas A&M website, Mack's final three he's choosing from are between the Aggies, Horned Frogs and Texas. But the report states "word started to circulate on Monday that he has informed the Longhorn coaches he would not be headed to Austin," while going on to also say that TCU's "confidence and optimism has started to wane as well."
That leaves Texas A&M in the driver's seat.
Mack has looked like a missing piece to the Aggies defense ever since the recruiting cycle began, and it's looking like the blueprint will finally be complete soon, per former Texas A&M player Brandon Leone:
Sumlin's defense has been among the worst in the SEC over the past two seasons, but with the arrival of famous defensive coordinator John Chavis should also come a massive defensive improvement. With Mack in the fold, that process will receive a massive shot in the arm.
Prediction: Mack signs with Texas A&M
Kris Boyd, Cornerback

A short window of opportunity after the commitment of Kris Boyd to Texas has seemingly passed for the Aggies.
The 4-star cornerback rated as the No. 11 positional player in his class seemed to put his recruitment to an end with the following announcement on Twitter during the final weekend of the recruiting cycle:
While a highly publicized commitment in the final days of the signing period seemed to be the final nail in the coffin for Boyd, news cropped up that proved such might not be the case. The 247Sports' Texas A&M website report stated the following:
"Watching Twitter on Monday evening, you can see that several Aggie players such as Josh Walker, who is close friends with Boyd, and Ricky Seals-Jones are hinting at something. They seem confident A&M will flip Boyd from the Longhorns. Mack even sent a cyptic tweet Boyd's way that seemed to indicate something was up.
"
Of course, the above rumblings had Longhorn fans everywhere sweating it out and gave Aggies fans reasons for hope, but Boyd took it upon himself to shoot down the rumors:
The pressure on Boyd—and any player in a similar position—at this time of year is immense, with lifelong friends and close compadres sure to be let down with any decision that he makes. Those relationships can mean everything in some circumstances, but they inevitably stand in the way when a recruit has his mind made up.
It won't be easy, but the Longhorns will hold onto Boyd after this late reaffirmation to his commitment.
Prediction: Boyd signs with Texas
Kendall Bussey, Running Back

Texas A&M looks to be adding a dangerous and speedy scat back to the backfield just before signing day, with Kendall Bussey joining the fold.
The 5'8", 205-pound back out of New Orleans had been committed to Tennessee since December, but he had a late change of heart to commit to the Aggies on Monday, according to his personal Twitter.
"We'd like to thank the Tennessee coaching staff for everything they've done but Kendall is going to be an Aggie," Bussey's father told 247Sports' Taylor Hamm. "It's been a tough process but ultimately we felt Texas A&M was the best fit for Kendall."
While the 3-star back wouldn't be an immediate standout at either school, it's easy to see how Texas A&M would be more preferred. The Vols look to be riding high on Jalen Hurd and new incomer Alvin Kamara for 2015 and beyond with a strong stable of secondary options, while the Aggies failed to sign a running back in last year's class and only return two backs from 2014.
One of the dark sides of college football is when a player signs to a school only to find out he might not have the opportunities there he once expected. But in Bussey's case, he seems to have found a last-minute fit in an offense that will suit his skill set well.
Prediction: Bussey signs with Texas A&M
