WWE Raw: Potential Spoilers, Rumors, News and Preview for February 2

Ryan DilbertFeb 2, 2015

The Feb. 2 edition of WWE Raw marks a return to live action with Superstars stepping out of the interview chair and into the ring.

Last week, a snowstorm forced the company to air Raw from its headquarters. Talking and recaps filled the show. With no interference from the weather this week, WWE can get back to work building and hyping the card for Fast Lane.

WWE will be planting seeds for its WrestleMania matches as well. Sports entertainment's version of the Super Bowl is less than two months away.

Monday Night RAW

Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado, hosts as John Cena and Rusev's feud continues and Triple H takes center stage. Will a former world champ on hiatus finally make his way back? Will Roman Reigns' Royal Rumble victory be called into question?

Arena reports, WWE's foreshadowing and James Wortman's five-point preview provide insight into what to expect when Monday's Raw airs.

Triple H Talking During and After Raw

What Triple H has to say both in character and as Paul Levesque is set create headlines.

On Thursday's SmackDown, The Game told fans that he would be addressing the controversy surrounding the Royal Rumble in an announcement on Raw that will shake WWE. He later told Michael Cole in a sit-down interview that things were "just not right in that match."

The company has fueled speculation as to what his announcement could be.

On an Instagram post, the caption for a photo of Daniel Bryan asked if Triple H's announcement would stop the Yes! Movement. WWE also posted a shot of Dean Ambrose on Instagram, asking in the caption, "How will @tripleh announcement tomorrow on #Raw affect #DeanAmbrose?"

Dave Scherer believes that Triple H will instead focus on Curtis Axel. He states on PWInsider, "I am expecting that while they are making you think it will be Daniel Bryan related, it will be a swerve and something like 'Curtis Axel was never eliminated from The Rumble.'"

When Raw is done, Triple H will keep talking. He is scheduled to appear on Steve Austin's podcast on the WWE Network, as announced on WWE.com.

The WWE Network is free for the month of February. That promotion and this interview are meant to be hooks to get fans' interest piqued about the streaming service going forward.

Austin's interview with Vince McMahon last year had fans and wrestlers alike talking afterward. Triple H's turn in front of Stone Cold promises to be no different.

News, Potential Spoilers

Brock Lesnar confronted Reigns last Monday in a standout segment. The champ won't be around when WWE travels to Colorado, but a certain predator lying in wait could take his place.

James Caldwell notes the following for Pro Wrestling Torch: "Lesnar is not advertised. As has been the case for a few weeks, though, Randy Orton is listed on WWE's website."

Randy Orton

It has now been three months since The Authority assaulted Orton so that WWE could write him off TV temporarily. It would have been good timing to have him return at the Royal Rumble or the Raw immediately following it. The inclement weather in the Northeast turning Raw into a skeletal version of itself nullified the latter option.

It's hard to imagine WWE keeping Orton out of action any longer. His expected vengeful pursuit of Seth Rollins needs to get rolling eventually.

Monday's Raw may also feature a less significant return. Darren Young has been adding to his match total at house shows as of late, yet he has not appeared on TV since recovering from ACL surgery.

Per ProFightDB.com, Young defeated Adam Rose on the Jan. 31 show in Edmonton, Alberta. The next night, he knocked off Rose again, this time in Calgary.

WWE may not have any plans for how to proceed with Young, but he's clearly healthy and part of the live event rotation. His return to TV is imminent.

That's especially true considering the roster will be down Xavier Woods. The New Day member didn't work the Rumble and appears to still be hurt.

Pro Wrestling Torch reports that Woods was still wearing a cast on his leg when he was in Big E and Kofi Kingston's corner at a live event in New Mexico over the weekend.

Fast Lane Build, Road to WrestleMania

On Thursday's SmackDown, Bray Wyatt's rant seemed to be filled with hints about his WrestleMania future. Along with his usual unsettling ramblings, he said that he fears nothing, living or dead.

Fans immediately began to wonder if he was referring to The Undertaker.

That would make sense, as Wyatt is rumored to be taking on The Deadman at WrestleMania. According to F4WOnline (h/t Wrestling Inc), WWE officials aren't sure whether Undertaker will return, but he is expected to face Wyatt if he does.

It only makes sense for WWE to go forward with teasing Wyatt vs. Undertaker if it knows The Phenom is healthy enough to compete. If he is, don't expect much from this story right away. WrestleMania is still far enough away for WWE to only offer hints and foreshadowing at this point.

A more pressing match to hype is Cena vs. Rusev.

After Cena and Rusev collided on Thursday's SmackDown, with the emphasis on trash-talking, it seems likely that their story turns violent on Monday night. Wortman hints at that, writing, "After ripping Rusev and Lana to shreds on the mic, 'the face that runs the place' could be facing some serious, painful repercussions from the unstoppable goliath this week."

That bout remains only the second one on the Fast Lane card for now. The other is a recent addition.

Paige will challenge Nikki Bella for the Divas Championship match at Fast Lane, as WWE announced on its official website.

Expect that feud to get going in a hurry. On Thursday's SmackDown, Nikki and Brie blindsided Paige. Revenge should be forthcoming. Wortman writes, "Will we see Paige retaliate against the devious duo this week on Raw?"

Where does Daniel Bryan fit into the Fast Lane picture? And after that, what about the WrestleMania lineup?

WWE is hinting that he and Dolph Ziggler are headed for a showdown. Wortman asks, "Will Bryan seek retribution against Wyatt for dashing his dreams for WrestleMania? Will Bryan's social media exchange with Dolph Ziggler about a friendly match at WrestleMania 31 lead to a Show of Shows dream match for the two fan-favorite Superstars?"

Expect WWE to lay the foundation for that matchup on Monday night.

According to F4WOnline (h/t Wrestling Inc), WWE is going ahead with a Ziggler vs. Bryan match, and Monday's Raw should feature some development on that front.

Bryan fans are likely to still be upset about his exit from the Rumble match. This will feel like a peace offering of sorts.

How the crowd reacts to this bout and to Reigns will be just as interesting as the in-ring action. Last year, the audience forced WWE to change its plans and insert Bryan into the marquee match at WrestleMania 30.

Will the crowd go the same route here, or can WWE (with plenty of help from Paul Heyman) sell the fans on the idea of Reigns vs. Lesnar being the right choice?
