Biggest Matchup: Marshawn Lynch vs. Patriots Rush Defense

In order for Russell Wilson to get the passing game going, he needs a solid rushing attack. If Wilson plans to find any room outside of the pocket, he'll need his running back to beat up the Pats defense.

Suffice to say, Marshawn Lynch has his hands full on Sunday for the Seahawks.

The best running back in the playoffs for any team will face a defense that only allowed six rushing touchdowns in the regular season. New England also allowed 104.3 rushing yards per game, which bodes well for Lynch carrying the load for Seattle.

Doug Baldwin wasn't secretive about the Seahawks' plan of attack on Sunday, per NFL Media PR:

With both Earl Thomas and Richard Sherman seemingly healthy, the Seahawks defense is in full force. That puts the pressure firmly on Seattle's offense to perform, something it struggled with during the NFC Championship Game.

Luckily, the Seahawks have Lynch. The 28-year-old running back serves essentially as a wrecking ball for the Seahawks offense. Pro Football Focus points out just how successful he's been during the playoffs:

In his last seven postseason games, Lynch has seven touchdowns and rushed for over 100 yards in four. Needless to say, either Lynch will have his time in the spotlight again, or the Patriots defense will take down the biggest weapon the Seahawks have offensively.

Either way, this is bound to be a determining matchup during the biggest game of the year.
