Patriots vs. Seahawks: Top Comments, Highlights from 2015 Super Media Day

R. Cory SmithJan 28, 2015

Oh, Super Bowl media day. Not only is it a time of players basking in the moment of making it to the Super Bowl, but it's also a chance for the media to hoard around members of both teams.

That, however, is not all that goes into the quirky Tuesday before the biggest game of the year. It oftentimes brings out reporters from all over, fans and, of course, crazies who think it's meant to be one big party.

Before any conversation about media day takes place, the outfits worn have to be mentioned. Much like Halloween, the craziest costume is always a memorable one. On Tuesday, the Terminator, some weird selfie guy, a superhero and, of course, a man in a barrel—why not?—were all on hand.

That man in a barrel was apparently going by "Barrel Boy," and he even worked up the nerve to ask a few questions. None of those questions were even remotely serious, but he did get sparse responses.

Monique Walker Jones of USA Today passed along one transaction between Barrel Boy and Darelle Revis:

There was another loud and boisterous outfit at media day, but it was actually worn by a media member. Warren Sapp's flamboyant pants stole the show, and Josina Anderson of ESPN even snapped a picture for the good folks at home:

At this point, all NFL fans know that Bill Belichick doesn't exactly have a fashion sense. The man infamously known for wearing hoodies—cutoff or not—proved that things really can get worse at media day.

Izzy Gould of USA Today provided a look behind the podium at Belichick's choice of footwear:

Then again, it's not like he did much worse than a man in a barrel without a shirt on.

As for the memorable comments Tuesday, Marshawn Lynch took the show. He didn't say much, but he did just enough to not get fined by the NFL. The NFL Network takes a look at every piece of commentary from Lynch:

Even though Lynch didn't give reporters much to write about, several others divulged about Beast Mode himself. Known for his tenacity on the field, reporters resorted to asking others to describe Seattle's lead back.

Vince Wilfork offered his take on the vicious running back, per Bleacher Report:

Andy Benoit of Sports Illustrated, on the other hand, provided a different type of analysis:

All of Lynch's antics aside, media day involving the Patriots wouldn't have been complete without Rob Gronkowski doing something outrageous. The outgoing tight end for New England has been known to do, well, just about anything on and off the field.

He is typically a violent force on the gridiron, but Gronk also had one of the most adorable moments of the entire day. The Pats' official Twitter account passed along a photo of Gronk and a small fan:

That, however, was easily overshadowed by Gronk reading an erotic novel. You read that right. Here's a small glimpse of that glorious moment, via Busted Coverage's Vine account:

Just to top off all of that, Joe Giglio of NJ.com summarized everything along with video of Richard Sherman dancing:

Media day is not typically the best day for hard-hitting journalism, even though some reporters actually make an attempt. It is, however, a day of fun and entertainment for fans, media and even some athletes—not including Lynch.
