Arsenal Transfer News: Kevin De Bruyne Agent Reacts to Gunners Rumours
The agent of Wolfsburg midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has left the door open regarding a potential transfer in the future, insisting the reported Arsenal target could be tempted by a move to England or Spain.
Reports in Germany (h/t Jamie Sanderson of the Metro) have quoted De Bruyne’s agent, Patrick De Koster, noting that there has been interest for the player. Sanderson cites Arsenal as potential suitors.
Speaking with Ed Aarons of The Guardian, De Koster claimed that while a move in January will not happen, there could be other options available to the midfielder further down the line:

"There is always going to be interest when things have been going so well but I can tell you Kevin is happy where he is. ...
But after that, who knows? England and Spain are both interesting championships or he could decide that another season in Germany is for the best. But it could be difficult because Wolfsburg paid a lot of money to sign Kevin and there are only a few clubs who could afford the price they will want.

Here’s a look at why De Bruyne is now considered as one of the brightest young attacking midfield men in European football:
Since leaving Chelsea, the Belgian international has gone from strength to strength. At the Volkswagen Arena, he’s been handed a key role in the team, and Wolfsburg have reaped the benefits in earnest—the Bundesliga will resume at the end of January with the club in second spot behind Bayern Munich.

As we can see here courtesy of WhoScored.com, the 23-year-old is quite the creative force for his side:
His work ethic and all-round application make him a wonderfully multifaceted player, and as noted by De Koster, De Bruyne would cost a lot of money if he was to be ever lured away from Wolfsburg.
With that in mind, not to mention the array of intricate attacking midfielders already at Arsene Wenger's disposal, the Gunners should forget about pursuing the Belgian.
Indeed, Arsenal should be looking at more realistic acquisitions for positions in obvious need of addressing. Bleacher Report's James McNicholas runs the rule over some reported January targets here:
Wolfsburg are a team on the up at the moment, and with players like De Bruyne, Ivan Perisic and Luis Gustavo within their ranks, they should qualify for the Champions League this season.
With top-level European football to look forward to and a critical role in a team centred around his playmaking abilities, De Bruyne couldn't wish for a better environment to grow as a player.
