Now that we got that out of the way, let's look at the biggest storylines surrounding the big game.

Can Russell Wilson Conquer Another All-Time Great?

After an abysmal performance for most of the game, Russell Wilson came up with the clutch plays he needed to lead his team to its second-straight Super Bowl appearance. When it's all said and done, the play we'll remember most from the NFC title game is the 35-yard strike to Jermaine Kearse in overtime that sent Seattle to Phoenix.

Last season, Seattle bested Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos in the Super Bowl.

In this year's NFC title game, Seattle turned back Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. In Super Bowl XLIX, Wilson will go head-to-head with the New England Patriots' future Hall of Famer, Tom Brady.

This graphic from Pro Football on ESPN shows Wilson's first three seasons compare favorably to Brady's.

Another victory over another of the greatest quarterbacks of his era would be a huge accomplishment for the 26-year-old Wilson. A second consecutive Super Bowl win would put him in rarified air with the likes of Bart Starr, Bob Griese, Terry Bradshaw (twice), Joe Montana, Troy Aikman, John Elway and Brady.

Who's Cheating?

Another year, another Patriots cheating scandal. This time, Pats head coach Bill Belichick is being investigated on suspicion that he masterminded the deflation of footballs before New England's 45-7 rout of the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC title game, per Mike Reiss of ESPN.com.

When asked about the investigation, Belichick directed inquiries to the league, per Reiss:

This kind of stuff is getting ridiculous. If Belichick is proven to somehow have done such a petty thing, then he should be punished severely. It wouldn't be as much about the act—which I don't believe had a bearing on the game—but to send a message.

The NFL must protect the integrity of the game at all costs.

Richard Sherman's Health

Per Albert Breer of the NFL Network, an MRI showed that Sherman suffered a sprained elbow in the NFC Championship Game against the Packers. He should be a go for the Super Bowl.

Sherman is a trooper. There should never have been a doubt he'd play. As long as he wasn't dealing with a head injury, and he could run, it would have been a shock if Sherman didn't play.

Still, it will be interesting to see if the injury hampers him or is aggravated during the game. Stay tuned.
