Tottenham Hotspur Transfer News and Rumours Tracker: Week of January 19
Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly ruled out making any signings in the January transfer window.
After Spurs' 2-1 win over Sunderland, he told journalists that he was "happy" with the squad and that no players would be coming in or out, per the Mirror (h/t the International Business Times).
Despite his protestations, newspapers in England are reporting that Dnipro winger Yevhen Konoplyanka and West Ham's New Zealand international defender Winston Reid are among Spurs' targets.
Both, it seems, are candidates to join the club on free transfers in the summer rather than in January, but Konoplyanka could sign a pre-contract agreement.
Beyond those two bargain deals, Spurs are uncharacteristically quiet.
Despite the lack of concrete information, the usual suspects continue to be linked with departures from White Hart Lane, while a handful of players, some a little surprising, are rumoured to have caught the eye of the club's power-brokers.

Veljkovic Makes Charlton Move
1 of 5
19-year-old midfielder Milos Veljkovic has joined Charlton Athletic on a season-long loan.
The versatile young Serbian is one of the jewels of Spurs' academy and was highly praised during his time on loan at Middlesbrough earlier in the season.
Unfortunately he wasn't getting enough first-team action so Spurs opted to send him across London instead.
Charlton are 16th in the Championship and eight points clear of the drop zone so Veljkovic is unlikely to be drawn into a relegation fight. Hopefully the youngster will get plenty of opportunities to show off his undoubted talent.
Naughton Departure Imminent
2 of 5
Tottenham's reserve reserve right-back is on his way out of the club, according to the Mirror.
Swansea, rumoured to have been interested in Naughton since the summer, are the club that have apparently secured his services after agreeing a £5 million fee with Spurs.
Naughton has not been the worst player that Spurs have had in recent years but he is probably the least talented member of the current squad and, thanks to the arrival of DeAndre Yedlin and the emergence of Vlad Chiriches as an emergency right-back option, he was unlikely to see significant playing time again.
His departure would seem to indicate that Mauricio Pochettino is satisfied with what he has seen from Yedlin in his first weeks in north London.
Spurs' Surprising Mirallas Bid Rejected
3 of 5
Everton winger Kevin Mirallas has flourished in the Premier League since joining from Olympiacos in the summer of 2012.
He has scored at almost one goal in every three matches despite suffering several significant injury setbacks.
Despite his obvious quality, The Telegraph's report that Spurs have enquired about his availability comes as a surprise.
Spurs are in need of additional strike power and could use a winger to give Mauricio Pochettino greater options, but Mirallas is unlikely to come cheap.
While Everton have something of a reputation as a club that is willing to sell, they rarely let go of their players on the cheap. Spurs would have had to make a significant offer to convince the Toffees to part with their brilliant wide man.
According to The Telegraph, his contract situation could motivate a sale, as Everton would be loath to lose him on a free transfer in 18 months.
Adebayor Refusing Spurs Departure
4 of 5
Emmanuel Adebayor was absent from Spurs for 69 days. In that time, the team won nine matches and surged up the Premier League table.
It is wholly unfair to conflate those two facts, and yet they seem to not be entirely coincidental.
Adebayor's time away forced Mauricio Pochettino to give Harry Kane more time in the starting lineup and allowed him to shine.
The long-term absence of the Togo striker, combined with Spurs' improved form and the emergence of Kane, was expected to result in Adebayor leaving the club during the transfer window.
According to The Independent, he has no interest of doing so.
His return as a substitute against Sunderland did not see Spurs capitulate and relapse to the disastrous form of early November. In fact, his cameo appearance was quite encouraging, and if Spurs are unable to find a buyer, keeping Adebayor at the club until the end of the season might be the most sensible move.
Despite his remarkable unpopularity—he was booed as he stood ready to be subbed on against Sunderland—Adebayor is suited to Pochettino's style and understands his role within it. He was among the first players to grasp Pochettino's complex game plans in the early months of the season.
The player himself told reporters that he is keen to repay Pochettino's faith and make an impact during the second half of the season.
Kane remains Spurs' first-choice striker, but Adebayor's experience and versatility could help the club as fixtures pile up. Spurs are pressing on in four competitions, so Adebayor may yet prove his value before the season is out.
Blanc Wants to Keep Rabiot
5 of 5
Paris Saint-Germain boss Laurent Blanc has essentially ended Spurs' hopes of signing his young midfielder Adrien Rabiot.
The central midfielder had been heavily linked with a loan deal earlier in the transfer window, but he now seems destined to remain in Paris.
Blanc told reporters that "I hope he stays at Paris Saint-Germain because for me he is the future of PSG," per Sports.fr (h/t Here Is the City).
While the PSG manager did leave the door slightly ajar, conceding that he "can't control everything," it seems as though Spurs are unlikely to pick up the highly rated France youth international.
