Jeremy Lamb Trade Rumors: Latest Buzz and Speculation Surrounding Thunder Guard
Jeremy Lamb's time with the Oklahoma City Thunder appears limited.
Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski reports Lamb could be part of a package for Brook Lopez:
ESPN's Chris Broussard reported the third-year guard was part of a potential three-way trade that would send him to the Charlotte Hornets, but those talks appear to be dead.
USA Today's Sam Amick reported on Thursday that Kendrick Perkins needed to also be involved for the potential trade to work.
Once seen as an important piece in helping replace the loss of James Harden, Lamb, who was drafted with a pick acquired via that Harden trade, hasn't progressed as quickly as many had hoped. In his third season with the Thunder, he is averaging 8.4 points, 3.1 rebounds and 0.7 steals in 19.3 minutes per contest.
That said, he's still only 22 years old and has shown plenty of glimpses of being an offensive threat. In his first 15 games of this season, most of which came with Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant on the bench with injuries, he averaged 12.4 points in 26.3 minutes per game, knocking down a scintillating 43.9 percent of his threes.
As Scott Rafferty of Crabdribbles.com argued, he makes sense for Charlotte:
Not only would he be paired with former UConn teammate Kemba Walker, but he would bring a much-needed outside presence to the Hornets, who entered Thursday 27th in the NBA in three-point makes and 29th in three-point percentage.
This could be the move that takes Lamb's development to the next level.
