New York Knicks Go Full Harlem Globetrotters for Highlight of the Knicks' Season
Derek Fisher may be two losses away from bringing out orange slices at halftime, but some New York Knicks haven't entirely traded in their letterman jackets for JV kits just yet.
In a rare moment of inspiration, three Knicks players put together a sequence worthy of a Harlem Globetrotters game during Thursday night's matchup against the Houston Rockets.
The play occurred during a third-quarter fast break initiated by undrafted dunk artist Langston Galloway. Grabbing a James Harden turnover, Galloway headed up the court for a three-on-one situation against Houston's Trevor Ariza.
What followed was a nifty, three-course highlight, with Galloway bouncing a behind-the-back pass to Shane Larkin, who lofted the ball up for a Cleanthony Early monster finish.
The play didn't echo in the win-loss column (New York was gutted and hung to dry by Houston 120-96), but any rim-rocking sequence by a player in white and orange at Madison Square Garden comes as fresh air to a drowning fanbase.
Over the last five days, Knicks fans have seen an exodus of talent, a hook shot to nowhere and a facepalm to end all facepalms. They deserve these moments.
In this spirit, here is a brief #KnicksTape medley of recent highs and lows.
Stay strong and trust in Phil Jackson, young princes.
