Liverpool Transfer News: Mario Balotelli Agent Reacts to Quit Rumours
Mino Raiola, the agent of under-pressure Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli, has reportedly confirmed his client won't exit Anfield during the January transfer window.
Sky Sport journalist Fabrizio Romano tweeted an update suggesting Brendan Rodgers will keep faith in his summer signing until at least the end of the season:

Italian website Tuttomercatoweb (h/t Alex Harris of the Daily Star) previously claimed Olympiakos were willing to pay Balotelli's wages to secure him on loan for the remainder of the season. The striker "has no interest in moving to Greece," according to the Serie A-focused website, per Harris' translation.

French champions Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be weighing up a move for the 24-year-old. Laurent Blanc's side are reported to be one of "several clubs" considering a bid, although the Ligue 1 team's progress could be dictated by UEFA's Financial Fair Play rules. PSG have already breached the guidelines once and cannot afford to risk a larger fine and squad cap on Balotelli's signature.
Reported interest in Balotelli is likely to flummox many. He has failed to score in 11 Premier League performances this season, per WhoScored.com, netting once in both the Capital One Cup and Champions League. His general demeanour remains lazy, wasteful and unwilling to integrate into a team that needs to work together to improve on a poor first half of the campaign.
Rodgers' side have improved without Balotelli in the team. The manager's switch to a 3-4-3 has placed emphasis on Raheem Sterling as the club's central forward, with his movement allowing the likes of Philippe Coutinho and Adam Lallana to flex their creative muscles.

Balotelli's static style rarely provides his crafty midfielders with the opportunity to hit space with a pass, making the Reds' play predictable and uninventive when he starts. The former Manchester City and AC Milan man is also too willing to shoot from ridiculous angles, as noted by Squawka:
At the end of December, Rodgers played down suggestions Balotelli would be quickly offloaded. "It's not something I have even thought about, to be honest," said the Northern Irishman, per BBC Sport. Daniel Sturridge's imminent return from injury may provide the side with enough firepower for Balotelli's departure to be seriously considered at the end of the season.
It's likely the player will remain on the bench when Sturridge finally puts a consistent run of matches together. Sterling and Sturridge can interchange between the central and wide roles in Rodgers' 3-4-3, or indeed, both flank Balotelli.

The manager will undoubtedly enjoy having a number of options as Liverpool go in search of securing a second consecutive season in the Champions League. Whether or not Balotelli remains a selection choice after the summer, however, remains to be seen.
