Barcelona Transfer Ban Is Blessing in Disguise for La Masia Stars Like Adama
Barcelona's ban from making any transfers until January of 2016 has been treated like a slap in the face by the club, but there are plenty who will see it as an opportunity.
An official statement claimed that the punishment was "excessive" and that the club "totally disagreed" with the Court of Arbitration for Sport's decision to uphold the FIFA action.
Meanwhile, president Josep Maria Bartomeu let us know his own thoughts on the issue. Per Sport, he said: "A great injustice has been committed today. An injustice for Barca, for all the children and parents affected by this decision, for all the club members and for football in general."

Despite all this fuss, the most talented youngsters in La Masia will be rubbing their hands together at the chances that may now lie ahead of them.
For a long time, Barcelona fans have hoped that the club's home-grown players will get the opportunities given to the likes of Sergio Busquets back in 2008, when he came through and replaced Yaya Toure.
Now, using players like Adama Traore, Sergi Samper and Alen Halilovic may be the best way for Barcelona to maintain their level both this season and next.

Adama is the most exciting attacking prospect on the books at the club at youth level. He made his debut last season under Tata Martino and Luis Enrique handed him another appearance in the Copa del Rey clash with Huseca at the Camp Nou.
Even in a cameo role, he didn't disappoint and netted his first goal in the Blaugrana stripes.
Along with Gerard Deulofeu, whose loan at Sevilla ends in the summer, Adama is the best way to add something different to Barcelona's powerful strike force.
His youthful vigour and direct running give something different, which may even have come in useful at other times this season, let alone next.
Deulofeu, meanwhile, has a top skill set, but what's questionable is his mental aptitude to adjust to playing for a team like Barcelona.

He's shown a tendency to try to do it all himself, and that just isn't what's required at the Camp Nou.
Meanwhile, the midfield might need a boost next summer, given that Xavi Hernandez is approaching the end of his career.
Luckily for Barcelona, in Rafinha, Samper and Halilovic, they have three players who have the required quality to play in the team, even if the latter two have a long way to go to be fit for regular use, whereas the former is already frequently in the squad.

However, now they will be motivated, more so than ever, to prove they can cut it at the highest level.
Even Martin Montoya may get reprieve. If Dani Alves does not sign an extension to his contract, which runs out at the end of the season, then perhaps Barcelona will need him to be the first-choice right-back.
Unless, of course, the Brazilian they signed in the summer, Douglas, dramatically improves.
While the club chiefs are furious at the transfer ban, at much lower levels it may be seen as something which has positive effects.
