How to Build Fan Excitement for Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena at Royal Rumble
Brock Lesnar will defend his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against John Cena at the Royal Rumble, and, to be honest, it's difficult for anyone to get terribly excited about it.
Unsurprisingly, fans on Twitter have been rather skeptical of the singles bout, which they've already seen three times on pay-per-view since Lesnar's return in early 2012.

Thankfully, there are several useful moves the writers can make to infuse the bout with some drama and intrigue.
The ending to Monday’s Raw, which saw Lesnar make his grand return to television and attack Cena, was a step in the right direction.
Lesnar needs to be more actively and physically involved—not staying home and filming dull taped interviews. That type of hype was what helped ruin his Night of Champions clash with Cena.
Lesnar has physical charisma and presence in spades. As soon as his music hits, fans know things are going to get crazy.
Simply put, it’s a quality no one in wrestling has any more.
His active involvement can help rejuvenate an otherwise stale bout. Therefore, WWE should make a point to have him all over television in the weeks leading up to the show.

The writers should also go out of their way to feature Seth Rollins heavily in this program. Rollins is ostensibly aligned with Lesnar and Paul Heyman, but the question of whether the duo can truly trust him hangs ominously over things.
Rollins running in at the Royal Rumble to cash in his contract against Lesnar if he retains his title is a perfectly plausible scenario.
Ideally, WWE writers will play this up in the next few weeks. They should reinforce Rollins' conniving nature and have him involved in a confrontation with Lesnar and Heyman in which the two men warn him not to interfere.
WWE wants fans to go into the bout not knowing quite what to expect.

The writers should also throw in a stipulation to Cena vs. Lesnar to also add some intrigue.
A No Holds Barred match is an interesting idea. It would signal to fans that the bout will showcase some genuinely brutal in-ring action. Another option is to have Cena say that if he doesn’t win, he will bring The Authority back to power.
How Rollins, who is desperate to have Triple H and Stephanie back, would convince Cena to agree to this stipulation remains to be seen. However, he’s conniving enough to figure something out.
Perhaps he could threaten to harm Cena's dad while he sits at ringside on an edition of the show or something along those lines.
WWE will have a tough time making another Cena-Lesnar bout appealing to fans. However, the involvement of Rollins, more Lesnar on television, and an extra stipulation or two should make the title bout worth watching, even if it never is going to be a major draw.
