With the holidays upon us, World Wrestling Entertainment taped its weekly SmackDown program two days earlier than usual, rolling into Sioux City, Iowa, for this week's show.
The last SmackDown of 2014 features two men who battled it out on last week's live edition of the blue brand, Dolph Ziggler and Seth Rollins, at each other's throats again, this time in tag team competition.
They would be joined by The World's Largest Athlete, The Big Show, and the future face of WWE, Roman Reigns.

Analysis
Airing just one day after Christmas, WWE isn't expecting a huge audience for SmackDown, evidenced by the lack of absolutely anything that would serve as reason to take time out of holiday parties or family gatherings to tune into the show if you were not already planning on doing so.
Thanks to unparalleled chemistry, Ziggler and Rollins have a long history of outstanding matches, but the introduction of Big Show and Roman Reigns injects the SmackDown main event with some additional star power.
All four men are likely to be involved in January's Royal Rumble and are favorites in the 30-man bout, so it makes sense that they would remain intertwined in the coming weeks.
Dean Ambrose and Bray Wyatt continue their rivalry when The Reaper of Souls prevents The Lunatic Fringe from capturing the United States Championship in a match against Rusev. The spoilers describe the contest as being "great," but there is always prejudice based on the reporter actually being in attendance versus watching on television.
Given Ambrose's skill set and Rusev's evolving in-ring abilities, it would surprise no one if the match supports the claim of those in the arena. The finished television product will determine if it is.
Hulk Hogan's mere presence on SmackDown alone adds credibility to the broadcast but is unlikely to do anything to help this week's episode evolve past "fun holiday special."
