Chelsea Transfer News: Jose Mourinho Insists Blues Will Sign Nobody in January
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is content with the players already under his wing and says the club will be making no investments this winter.
The Blues currently lead the Premier League standings after bringing in Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas this past summer. Mourinho told talkSPORT's The Sports Bar there are no plans to add players this January: "No. We have a short squad but we’ve got good players, some younger, some older, but the squad is very, very good. Our project is to start and finish the season with the same group of players, so there will be nobody to leave and nobody to come in either."

As well as leading the English top flight heading into the Christmas schedule, Mourinho's men have also made it to the last 16 of the Champions League, where they'll face Paris Saint-Germain for the second European season in a row.
Despite that pressure to compete across multiple fronts, the tactician seems happy with the resources under his command, having managed to keep injuries at bay for the majority of the 2014-15 campaign.

Tuesday evening saw the west Londoners clinch a 3-1 win over Derby County to book their place in the Capital One Cup semi-finals.
However, Mourinho has been quick to shoot down any talk of the club potentially winning four trophies this season, per the Mail Online:
Both Costa and Fabregas have been instrumental in elevating Chelsea to their new dominion. The former has given the club the slick finishing that's been amiss for so many years, while Fabregas' 11 assists have once again pointed him out as one of Europe's most creative stars.
Norwegian pundit Jan Aage Fjortoft notes that the club made fine use of the £50 million they made from David Luiz's sale to PSG:
Since the takeover of Roman Abramovich in 2003, Chelsea have garnered a reputation as one of the world's more liberal sides when it comes to splurging in the transfer market.
That being said, with Financial Fair Play regulations playing their role and the team already in good form, now is perhaps the right time for the club to show restraint.
After all, this is the same team that impressed so early in the season, and despite recent disappointments against Sunderland and Newcastle United, it's up to Mourinho to re-establish their dominance.
Winter is also a difficult time to know where to restructure. Injuries are often what leads to emergency reserves being brought in, but the Blues have been fortunate in that their absences have been few and far between this season.
As long as that luck continues, Mourinho can bank on possessing arguably the deepest squad in the land, boasting elite options in just about every position.
The bad news for Europe's suitors, though, is that while Mourinho's comments mean no new names may arrive, it's also likely to see just as few depart their shores in the new year.
