Chelsea Transfer News: Petr Cech to Stay, Tyrone Mings Advantage Revealed
Petr Cech's agent Viktor Kolar has ruled out the possibility of his client leaving Chelsea during the January transfer window, seemingly putting an end to persistent chatter surrounding his future.
The goalkeeper lost his starting position to Belgium international Thibaut Courtois after the latter returned from a loan spell with Atletico Madrid, and it was believed Cech wanted to leave the Blues as quickly as possible.
As reported by the London Evening Standard's Simon Johnson, Kolar said that won't be the case: "There has been no contact with AS Roma. Certainly Petr will not move during the transfer market in January."

AS Roma are but one of many interested clubs, according to Johnson, with Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan, Liverpool and Arsenal all reportedly monitoring the situation.
The 32-year-old has spent the past decade in west London, winning countless trophies as the designated starter between the sticks. While he's still a world-class stopper, he doesn't offer the same long-term upside as the much younger Courtois, a strong reason for Jose Mourinho to continue with the Belgian.
Roma's interest in the Czech international was always believed to be the most concrete, but, as shared by Sport Witness, Morgan De Sanctis' contract extension may be a sign the Italians are no longer involved in the sweepstakes:
Cech is still expected to move away from the club at some point in the near future, and Kristian Sturt believes he will look at his options during the summer:
As the regular starter for the Czech Republic national team, he'll likely want to play regular football during the 2015-16 season to make sure he's in top form once Euro 2016 kicks off. As reported by UEFA.com, the Czechs look like a safe bet to qualify.
A summer move seems likely, but as of right now, it looks like the Blues will have two world-class stoppers to count on for the remainder of the 2014-15 season.

Arsenal are reportedly very interested in talented defender Tyrone Mings, a 21-year-old currently plying his trade for Ipswich Town. But, according to the Daily Telegraph's Jason Burt, the Blues would have a massive advantage over their rivals should they choose to chase the youngster as well.
Mings' father currently works as a scout for Chelsea, and he'll know better than anyone else what his son plans to do with his future:
"One, in particular, would be expected to have a detailed knowledge of the situation—and that is Adie Mings, Tyrone's dad, and a former striker with non-league Bath City. Mings senior was manager then director of football at Chippenham Town before being signed up by Chelsea two years ago to scout for them throughout the south-west.
Still he surely, also, has some close knowledge of what is going on in East Anglia.
"
He may not be the biggest name available on the market, but Mings is widely viewed as one of the top defensive prospects in England. A former member of Southampton's vaunted youth academy, he currently plays as a left-back in the Championship.
He has the body type of an elite centre-back, however, combining excellent athletic abilities and strength with solid technique and vision. As shared by WhoScored, he has a keen eye for passing lanes as well:
Chelsea don't have a need for another defender, but Mourinho has been hoarding young talent by the handful in recent years, knowing full well how valuable they can be in the age of Financial Fair Play.
The sales of Romelu Lukaku and Kevin de Bruyne were an excellent way to balance the club's books, and given the success of Chelsea's transfer policy in the last two seasons, there's no reason for Mourinho to change it.
Ipswich's reported asking price of £8 million is relatively steep for such an inexperienced player, but going off his long-term potential, stealing Mings from the Gunners could turn into an excellent piece of business.
