Aaron Dobson Injury: Updates on Patriots WR's Hamstring and Recovery

Donald WoodDec 4, 2014

New England Patriots wide receiver Aaron Dobson suffered a serious hamstring injury during Week 13's game against the Green Bay Packers, and he will reportedly be placed on injured reserve as a result.

Dobson shared these comments via Instagram:

Dobson's first two seasons in the NFL have been a struggle. Not only did he suffer this season-ending hamstring injury, but he also underwent surgery on his ankle and had a screw inserted in his foot in March.

The former second-round pick has caught only three passes for 38 yards and was a healthy scratch eight times this season. The inability to get on the field during the offseason and training camp hurt his development, and the result is yet another setback for the receiver.

Dobson has plenty of talent and is still young enough at 23 years old to overcome the injuries, but New England has to be concerned for his long-term productivity. After catching 37 passes in 12 games last season for 519 yards and four touchdowns, Dobson’s upside will likely give him another chance with the Patriots.
