Enzo Amore Will Be WWE's Next Great Manager
The art of being a manager is one that is rarely mastered anymore, but Enzo Amore, the next great WWE ringside maestro, will do just that.
His NXT peers have him beat in terms of ring skills and athleticism, but he has the traits that took some of the great managers of the past into the Hall of Fame—comic timing, charisma and a firm hold on his character.
Never mind that men like Adrian Neville are serving up gourmet dishes while Amore produces the wrestling equivalent of a ham sandwich. He's a special talent, possessing a rare amount of "it" factor. Put that to use as a manager, and watch him skyrocket.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Amore is a guy you can't help but notice right away. He has a leopard-print pattern shaved into his head and tattoos dotting his body, and he's a small dude in a world of musclebound behemoths.
Once he grabs hold of a mic, he builds upon that initial impression. He fires out zingers and has the crowd saying his catchphrases along with him.
With that in mind, WWE has to find a place for him on its programming despite his being someone who will be hard to sell as a wrestler. What he has in common with the greatest managers of all time suggests that he follow the path they took as an advocate and cornerman.
Bobby Heenan
"The Brain" was one of the funniest men to ever be a part of WWE. Attribute a lot of that to comic timing, then throw in some improvisational excellence and an ability to get under folks' skin.
It's rare to find comic skills like that in the wrestling world. It's not as if WWE is scouting the funniest men and women all over the world; the company is looking for the top athletes who happen to have a little personality.
There will never be another Heenan, but Amore's ability to make us laugh will remind many of the Hall of Famer.
Whether he's listing off types of sandwiches or talking hairstyles, he engages. He hits all the right notes. After he and Colin Cassady suffered their first loss, Amore emerged backstage, ready to deliver the comic goods:
Big Cass is funny as well, but Amore is clearly the bigger star. He tosses in a reference to meteor showers during a speech filled with his own unique take on the English language.
Comedy so often fails, in WWE or elsewhere, but it works with Amore on a regular basis. If he can make a segment centered around soft tacos this entertaining, the WWE writing team isn't going to need to do much to help him get over.
Paul Heyman
Slick, charismatic and in complete control on the microphone, Heyman has long since established himself as a go-to option for WWE. He can sell us on Brock Lesnar being a part-time champ and for a short while had fans believing in Curtis Axel.
This is partly why Heyman has forced himself into the discussion for best all-time manager. He's a puppet master yanking strings around.
Amore's style is far different from Heyman's, but he's similarly talented at controlling the audience. Whether it's through his seemingly endless supply of catchphrases or his swagger, Amore is a man who demands attention.
His electricity is sure to rub off on whoever WWE pairs him with.
He's nailed his mic time so far. For example, when he made his return after recovering from a leg injury, he balanced anger with comedy in a stellar promo:
That performance is crisper and more confident than some of the stuff we see from guys who have been on the main roster for a long time.
Amore is just 27 years old. With added experience, he's only going to get better at the mic game.
Captain Lou Albano
Wrestling is all about characters. Talented men have failed to catch on because they don't figure out the ideal personae. That was never an issue with Albano.
Forgettable as a wrestler, he made an enduring mark as a manager.
He stood out, even in the circus world that is the WWE. With a rubber band circling his oversized, gray beard, Hawaiian shirts hanging over his rotund frame and wild eyes darting at the screen, he left an impression from the first moment.
That's what Amore will do when WWE exposes him to a larger audience. His haphazard fashion sense is as unique as Albano's.

He's as energetic as the late Hall of Famer was and has just as big a personality.
Mashing those traits along with his work on the mic makes him a blue-chipper of a manager. WWE hasn't made the decision to limit him to that role, as he still competes in the ring at NXT. That's not where he will build his legacy, though.
As someone else's mouthpiece and an eccentric adviser, Amore is going to flourish.
