Emotions ran a little high with the Denver Broncos leading the Kansas City Chiefs 26-10 in the fourth quarter Sunday.

With 11 minutes, 59 seconds to go in the game, Denver Broncos outside linebacker Von Miller was penalized for a late hit on Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith. The officials flagged Miller for roughing the passer, bringing the Chiefs inside the red zone.

During the official's announcement of the penalty, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce stood beside the official.

Kelce appeared to point at the official and then made an inappropriate hand gesture, leading many to believe his actions were directed toward to the official.

It would not have made sense for Kelce to do such thing, however, considering the penalty was given to Miller and not a Chiefs player.

Following the conclusion of the 29-16 loss to the Broncos on Sunday Night Football, it is safe to say Kelce saw his mentions on Twitter and felt the need to defend himself and explain his actions.

In his tweet, he wrote that his hand gesture was not intended for the referee. Instead, he was targeting Miller, accusing him of a cheap shot on Smith. Kelce went on to say Miller "deserved a shot to the face," referencing the hand gesture that was seen by a national audience and went viral on social media.

Although Kelce had a reason to be upset about the late hit on Smith, his actions came off as disgraceful. After several responses, he deleted his tweet and followed up with another one.

Either way, Kelce's actions were caught on NBC, and the NFL could come down with a punishment.
