49ers CEO Jed York Apologizes for Team's Abhorrent Play on Thanksgiving
The Seattle Seahawks devoured the San Francisco 49ers slowly and deliberately Thursday night.
Pete Carroll’s team came into Levi’s Stadium for a refreshingly pivotal Thanksgiving Day game, taking over early and chewing up the 49ers offense as Colin Kaepernick continually failed to move the ball downfield.
At no point in San Francisco’s 19-3 loss did the 49ers offense look cohesive, and the lack of execution took franchise frustration to new heights. Chief among those disappointed in the result was 49ers CEO Jed York, who tweeted out an apology to fans who spent Thanksgiving night watching their team flounder against a bitter division rival:

These are damning remarks from York, who ended up firing Harbaugh’s predecessor, Mike Singletary, after making similar comments in 2010. The San Jose Mercury News’ Tim Kawakami tweeted that York’s words are eerily similarly to those that came before Singletary’s dismissal:
In the postgame presser, reporters asked Harbaugh about York’s tweet. The coach said he hadn’t heard about it:
After the game, Kaepernick agreed with York’s remarks, per Bay Area reporter Cam Inman:
So where does this leave us?
There's plenty of blame to go around in San Francisco. Harbaugh and his grating personality are clearly in the crosshairs. Kaepernick is under fire for his steep regression into mediocrity. Offensive coordinator Greg Roman may not have a job next Monday—if Cassie Baalke's opinion means anything.
Cassie, daughter of 49ers general manager Trent Baalke, tweeted out a message telling Roman to "take a hike." 49ersNews.com grabbed a screenshot of the tweet before it was deleted:

She later tweeted a non-apology regarding her previous message:
"Everyone's entitled to an opinion..sorry mine doesn't favor you or agree with yours
— Cass. (@Baalkecassie) November 28, 2014"
Roman may see the door in the near future, but his firing will in all likelihood be a precursor to Harbaugh's departure from the franchise.
After a season of locker room mumbling and hollow PR attempts to add shimmer to the dysfunctional San Francisco-Harbaugh relationship, the 49ers higher-ups appear to be done feigning happiness with their head coach. Their shot at the postseason is slipping away, their franchise quarterback continues to throw directly at Richard Sherman, and the natives are restless.
It’s difficult to see San Francisco making a late-season change at head coach, but barring a mind-blowing hot streak to the Super Bowl, it’s likely Harbaugh will be playing out his final season in the Bay Area.
