Tyson Fury vs. Dereck Chisora 2: Fight Time, Date, Live Stream, TV Info and More

Brian MaziqueNov 27, 2014

With a shot at WBO, WBA and IBF heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko on the line, per James Robson of The Manchester Evening News, Dereck "Del Boy" Chisora (20-4, 13 KO) and Tyson Fury (22-0, 16 KO) will rematch Saturday at the ExCel Arena in London. The vacant BBBofC British heavyweight title and the EBU heavyweight strap are on the line. However, make no mistake, a shot at Klitschko's litany of titles is the major prize here.

Fury won a relatively easy unanimous decision over Chisora when the two met in 2011. It was the beginning of a stretch that saw Chisora lose four of five fights. Since then, he's won five in a row, including a lopsided unanimous-decision win over Kevin Johnson in February.

The rematch was originally scheduled for July 26, but a fractured hand forced Chisora to bow out. Instead of taking on Chisora's last-minute replacement, Alexander Ustinov, Fury elected not to fight after his uncle and former trainer, Hughie Fury, was hospitalized.

The two men last fought on Feb. 15, so each fighter will have to deal with a nine-month layoff.

Trash talk has been at the center of the buildup dating back to the hype for the original date. While some of the hostilities seems to have cooled, both men are giving off vibes that they are extremely confident.

Fury talks in the video below about how he's going to defeat Chisora:

All of that confidence can fade with one huge power shot. When heavyweights are involved, that's all it takes.

Here's how you can watch these two big men rumble for a second time.

When: Saturday, Nov. 29 at 3 p.m. ET

Where: ExCel Arena in London

A Different Del Boy

Dereck Chisora is a better fighter now than he was when Fury beat him four years ago. Fighters often make that claim, but in Chisora's case, it's true.

He's been in far better shape lately than he was in previous bouts. For example, Chisora was 261 pounds for the first fight with Fury. That was the heaviest he had been in any fight in his career. It was 16.5 pounds heavier than he was for the fight 10 months earlier.

In contrast, the 30-year-old was a svelte 238 pounds when he beat Johnson earlier this year. As a leaner and more focused fighter, Chisora is dangerous. Martin Domin of Mail Online calls Chisora "matured and focused"

Chisora still has big power, and he can put more pressure on his opponents with the increased stamina he has due to carrying less weight.

Big, Defiant and Still Undefeated

We can talk about Chisora's improvement, but you can't ignore the strides Fury has made. Since he defeated Chisora, he's 7-0 with six knockouts.

Many people like to take shots at Fury. He's not the easiest guy to like. However, he is 6'9" with an 85-inch reach and an unblemished professional record.

Until someone beats him, the joke is on his haters.

The latest drama surrounding Fury is whether the BBBofC is going to force him to shave his full beard ahead of Saturday's fight, per Domin. The beard can be seen as unsanitary when it gets to a certain length, and it could act as an abrasive surface during clinches.

Fury alluded to an act of cooperation, but in a manner typical of his personality, he said, "'If they want it off they can have it off. I'll post it to them with a signed postcard."

In the case of an undefeated heavyweight boxer, controversy makes him all the more marketable and intriguing. Despite the fact that he's been around for a while, Fury is still just 26 years old. His best days could be ahead of him.

He may need to be at his best to beat Chisora again.

Prediction

This is a tough one to pick. Chisora is more talented and clearly in the best shape of his career—mentally and physically. That said, it's more than a notion to get past an eight-inch height advantage and an 11-inch reach advantage (85 to 74).

Fury is still learning how to fight tall, but he seemingly gets better at this essential skill with every fight. I believe he continues to improve and hands Chisora another loss. Expect a ninth-round TKO that sets up a colossal matchup with Wladimir Klitschko.
