WWE SmackDown Spoilers: Complete Results and Analysis for November 28, 2014

Erik BeastonNov 25, 2014

With The Authority no longer a factor and Daniel Bryan taking over control of World Wrestling Entertainment for the week, the company's Superstars and Divas rolled into Fort Wayne, Indiana, for this week's SmackDown tapings.

Bryan wasted little time in continuing to book Team Authority in matches that would force its members into action against Team Cena.

Dolph Ziggler, on the heels of one of the finest performances of his career at Sunday's Survivor Series, had the opportunity to wrest the WWE Intercontinental Championship away from Luke Harper. Would he succeed, or would the former Wyatt Family member make it two in a row against The Showoff?

Ryback squared off with Seth Rollins, who was looking to rebound from a Monday Night Raw that saw him suffer an Attitude Adjustment at the hands of John Cena. Would the Big Guy end Rollins' week on a sour note? What role would Kane play in the contest?

The New Day faction consisting of Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods and Big E made its debut, new Divas champion Nikki Bella was in action, and Big Show joined The Miz on Miz TV.

Here are the results from Tuesday's show, courtesy of our friends at WrestlingInc.com.

Venue

Allen County War Memorial Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana

Broadcast Team

Michael Cole, Tom Phillips and John Bradshaw Layfield

Results

  • The Miz welcomed The Big Show to Miz TV to kick off the show. Guest general manager Daniel Bryan interrupted and announced that both Luke Harper and Rusev would be in action.
  • United States champion Rusev won a Battle Royal. The match was the result of his refusal to recite the Pledge of Allegiance.
  • Nikki Bella defeated Emma. AJ Lee attacked both Bella Twins after what was said to be an outstanding promo from Nikki.
  • Ryback defeated Seth Rollins via disqualification when Kane attacked the Big Guy with a steel chair.
  • Big E, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods defeated Heath Slater, Titus O'Neil and Curtis Axel.
  • Bray Wyatt cut a promo on Dean Ambrose backstage.
  • Daniel Bryan announced Ryback vs. Kane in a Chairs match for TLC.
  • Dolph Ziggler defeated intercontinental champion Luke Harper by count-out. He celebrated to close the show.

Analysis

Between Bryan's presence on the show, the arrival of the New Day faction and the announcement of Ryback vs. Kane for TLC, this week's post-Thanksgiving episode of SmackDown appears to be one worth watching.

Factor in what should be a tremendous main event between Ziggler and Harper, who have outstanding chemistry between the ropes, and you have the potential for a quality episode of the Friday night staple.

The most important fact is that, unlike Monday's Raw, there does not appear to be the overabundance of filler and nonsense that made that show such a disappointment. The results point toward a show that is much more focused.

One must wonder if the recent rash of entertaining and important episodes of SmackDown is the company's way of bring attention back to the show in preparation for its move back to Thursdays. If that is the case, regular appearances by John Cena and Randy Orton will be needed to really hammer home just how important the shows are for the continuity of the stories presented on Raw.

If not, no new night is going to convince fans to devote their time to two more hours of WWE programming every week.
