WWE Survivor Series 2014: Most Likely Heel and Face Turns at Event
WWE’s annual Survivor Series event has been known for its shocking twists and turns, and this year’s show should be no different. Indeed, there are several wrestlers on the roster who may be lined up for a drastic character change at the Scottrade Center.
Randy Orton—last seen being brutally beaten down by The Authority on Raw—could potentially return to the show and help John Cena’s team defeat its corporate foes, thus establishing his babyface turn.
Considering the show is taking place in The Viper’s hometown of St. Louis, this might be the ideal booking scenario to get his new run as a good guy off to the best start possible.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭

Sting, too, is apparently scheduled for the show, per reports (from F4WOnline via WrestlingInc). Yes, after years of much talk and speculation, fans may finally be on the verge of seeing the WCW icon in a WWE wrestling ring for the first time ever.
It’s difficult to see WWE debuting one of wrestling’s most famous babyfaces as a heel, so you can’t rule out him storming in at the end to deliver the crushing killer blow to Triple H’s regime. It would be a newsworthy start to his WWE run and set him up for a potential WrestleMania dream match with Triple H.
Or maybe he’ll just appear from nowhere, have an ambiguous showdown with Cena and then disappear back into the shadows. Perhaps WWE won't want to commit itself to anything just yet.
Of course, someone on Cena’s crew turning on him and joining The Authority could potentially occur.
Per the storyline, Triple H has vowed to fire everyone on Team Cena—except notably Cena. This could potentially motivate someone to turn and deliver the victory to The Authority, thus ensuring they get rehired instantly by the grateful corporation. (It might be a smarter move career-wise than just going in there, doing your best and hoping it works out and your team gets the win.)
Considering Cena hasn’t exactly been there for his teammates over the past few weeks—he’s been nowhere to be seen whenever his guys have been on the receiving end of a heel beatdown—one of them turning on him does make a lot of sense in the storyline anyway.
Going in, Ryback may be the most obvious candidate for a turn. It’s clear that Cena can’t fully trust him—he’s too crazy and only seems to be out for himself.
However, knowing how WWE writers like to shock people, Ryback betraying Team Cena is a little too predictable. Besides, after a lengthy period of stagnation, the former Nexus star appears to be hitting his stride again as a babyface. Turning him now doesn’t make much sense.

Erick Rowan is a possibility for the turncoat role as well, but he probably isn’t a big enough star for his defection to The Authority to have any real impact on the fans.
Dolph Ziggler, therefore, is probably the most likely candidate to commit a betrayal.
The star has always been far better suited to being a heel—his babyface character is a little on the bland side, frankly—and it would help rejuvenate his career. A Cena vs. Ziggler feud is a very compelling possibility, too.

While it may have been a difficult pay-per-view for fans to get worked up and excited for initially, the potential appearances of Sting and Randy Orton, as well as the chances of someone in Team Cena turning to the dark side, have helped make Survivor Series a show certainly worth checking out.
In these troubled times, that's a small victory for WWE's booking crew.
