WWE NXT Results: Biggest Winners, Losers and Moments from November 20, 2014
Sami Zayn again took center stage as NXT hit the WWE Network airwaves Thursday night.
And rightfully so.
The former No. 1 contender to Adrian Neville's heavyweight title has been the best wrestler on the brand's roster for the entire year and has repeatedly turned in phenomenal performances, regardless of the opponent. His journey to the NXT Championship should be treated as something special, something monumental and thus far, it has been.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
After last week's crushing loss to Neville, Zayn had every reason to be disheartened and disappointed. Again he watched an opportunity to become NXT champion pass him by and, again, he proved his doubters correct by failing to win the proverbial "big one." But he found solace in the announcement by NXT general manager William Regal that, at Takeover: Revolution, he would have one last shot at taking the gold.
Zayn was the one winner from the November 20 episode of NXT.
With the December 11 live special rapidly approaching, the stars of WWE's developmental system are all desperate to make an impact and earn a spot on the huge telecast.
Who succeeded this week?
Let's take a look.
Winner: Kevin Owens
From the moment Kevin Steen signed with World Wrestling Entertainment, fans of the controversial Ring of Honor star wondered when he would make his debut. Thanks to a video package airing early in Thursday's broadcast, those fans got their answers.
On December 11, Steen will debut under his new name Kevin Owens.
When he steps onto the NXT stage for the first time, he will be greeted with a response befitting a star of his magnitude. While Hideo Itami and Finn Balor both arrived to impressive reactions, they did so as international stars with very little experience or resume in the United States.
Owens has that in spades, thanks to his time in Ring of Honor and various high-profile indy promotions across the contiguous 48 states.
Expect him to arrive with a bang and waste little time becoming a breakout star, and champion, in NXT.
Losers: The Lucha Dragons
Aiden English and Simon Gotch did their best to get heat Thursday night, to convince fans to boo them by beating up minis dressed in Lucha gear, clearly making fun of NXT Tag Team champions Kalisto and Sin Cara. But a funny thing happened: No matter how much they tossed around their much smaller opposition, or how emphatic commentators Rich Brennan, Renee Young and Alex Riley were about their heinous behavior, fans could not bring themselves to boo The Vaudevillians.
Why?
Because people do not care about the champions. No matter how much WWE pipes in chants of "lucha" along with their theme music or how flashy the maneuvers the babyfaces utilize, fans cannot get behind them because they don't have a reason to. What are their characters? What are their motivations?
Fans don't know and, thus, don't care.
Gotch and English are much more interesting, much more entertaining and as a result, fans opted not to boo them as they beat down their outmatched opposition.
That does not bode well for Sin Cara and Kalisto come NXT Takeover: Revolution, where they are likely to be treated with hostility by a crowd more interested in cheering the heels to victory.

Winners: The Ascension
Two weeks ago, Konnor and Viktor were on the receiving end of a brutal beatdown at the hands of Hideo Itami and Finn Balor. Thursday night, they recovered nicely, thanks to a quality beatdown of Enzo Amore, Big Cass, Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder.
That's right; NXT's most dominant tag team tore through four Superstars before addressing Itami and Balor.
“We are not dead but the two of you very soon will be," Viktor warned the newcomers.
The rivalry between the teams is something that has made for some excellent television. More importantly, at least for the heels, Thursday's beatdown reminded fans that they are the most dominant tag team in wrestling today and absolutely should be feared.
Regardless of who is standing across from them in the ring.
