WWE Survivor Series 2014: Match Card, Potential Spoilers, Predictions and More
John Cena and his band of babyfaces have a chance to end a long reign of corporate tyranny at WWE Survivor Series 2014.
Team Authority vs. Team Cena has a "rebels rising up against the empire" feel to it. It features men who live on the marquee like Cena and newcomers to the spotlight like Rusev. Add that up, and it has the potential to be one of the biggest Survivor Series matches in a long while.
Will fans foreseeing the ending ruin it, though? Triple H's announcement on SmackDown, that the members of Team Cena (minus Cena himself) will be fired if they lose, points to a happy ending for the babyfaces.

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Perhaps Bray Wyatt and Dean Ambrose's battle, despite underwhelming buildup, can provide the night with a jolt once those men get in the ring.
Survivor Series, one of WWE's first pay-per-view events, is the centerpiece to the company's free month-long trial of the WWE Network. A quartet of teams clash over the tag titles, the Bella sisters' rivalry rolls on and the majority of the Divas division is working in a single match.
It's the main event that the company has most focused on, a match that houses the highest stakes at the event—control over the company for Team Authority and staying employed for Team Cena.
While that bout is sure to create the majority of headlines before and after the event, a repackaged group could make its mark on it as well.
News, Potential Spoilers
Nov. 23 may mark the official restart for Xavier Woods, Big E and Kofi Kingston.
After briefly appearing as a faction months ago, the trio faded away. Just as it began to look like WWE was trashing the idea of them working together, each member starred in his own choir-centric vignette.
Now it appears that their first pay-per-view date is on its way. F4WOnline (h/t Wrestling Inc) reports that the A New Day faction may debut at Survivor Series.
With a card still in need of matches, this choice would make a lot of sense. It gives the group a big moment to kick off its latest run. It also adds to a show that needs something to fill it out.
As for the main event, WWE may not be sure what it wants to do with Cena afterward.
As the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Daily DDT) reports, the company is considering having Cena vs. Brock Lesnar or Cena vs. Seth Rollins and Randy Orton in a TLC match at the TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs pay-per-view.
The second option points to a possible surprise appearance from Orton at Survivor Series to help start that story rolling and/or a continuation of The Authority vs. Cena feud.
In the category of rumors that don't have any weight sits AJ Lee potentially being on her way out of WWE after Survivor Series and Chris Jericho worming his way into the main event.
Unsubstantiated word that AJ is ready to exit the company has traveled across the Internet. Dave Meltzer says it's simply not true. In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Wrestling Inc), he addressed the issue, saying that AJ is not leaving.
An Instagram photo from Jericho had fans speculating that he was working with The Authority and that perhaps that meant he'd be a surprise guest at Survivor Series to aid them:
He wrote in the caption that this was a secret meeting. Before one draws too many lines between this image and Survivor Series, take a look at Jericho's tour dates with his band Fozzy.
The group is scheduled to perform in Iowa the night of the pay-per-view.

Check out Jason Powell of ProWrestling.net's predictions before you read on to see how I see things playing out:
Quick Predictions
- Nikki over AJ.
- Goldust and Stardust retain.
- Natalya's team wins.
- Wyatt over Ambrose.
- Team Cena over Team Authority.
Nikki Knocks off AJ
The focus has been on Nikki and Brie Bella's sibling rivalry for months. Even though the Divas champ was thrown into the mix, the story has been more about them.
It's been a tale of how wicked Nikki is and how much she's making Brie suffer since earning the right to force her sister to be a personal assistant. Expect the Divas title to become a part of that.
When Brie finally snaps and gets her revenge, it will be a far bigger moment if gold is on the line as well.
Stardust and Goldust Survive
With as much momentum as The Miz and Damien Mizdow have right now, there's a chance they pry the titles from the champs.
The issue, though, is that tension is already intensifying between them. They have been bickering more and more, even during one of The Miz's online acting lessons:
That squabbling is going to cost Miz and Mizdow a title opportunity, but it will make for the foundation of their eventual feud against each other. You can bet that WWE is hearing all those "We want Sandow!" chants.
A babyface turn is imminent, set to arrive as soon as Survivor Series.
Babyfaces Win
There's little story here. WWE put together this match at the last minute as a card-filler.
"Alicia,Natalya,Naomi & Emma vs Paige,Cameron,Summer & Layla: DIVAS @WWE #SurvivorSeries Elimination Tag Team Match! pic.twitter.com/x02bsfgcg2
— Joey Styles (@JoeyStyles) November 18, 2014"
With that in mind, count on WWE trying to balance out all the heel wins by having Natalya and company deliver a win for the good guys. Last year, WWE went the same route.
Team Total Divas (Natalya was on that squad as well) knocked off AJ's team in a terrible match. It will be hard for this year's edition to be anywhere near as groan-inducing as that was.
Wyatt Gets the First Round
Wyatt vs. Amborse has just taken its first few steps. They have only been at each other's throats for a month, and this marks the first in-ring portion of this feud.
The standard strategy is to delay the gratification of seeing the hero overcome the monster. Don't expect WWE to give us that pleasure already.

Wyatt gets the victory here by some dastardly method, continuing their fight into TLC and beyond.
Team Cena Survives
WWE tipped its hand. It's not going to fire Ziggler, Ryback, Big Show and Rowan. It would be silly to fire them and bring them back soon afterward by virtue of loophole as well.
There's too much of a depth problem right now for the company to screw around with keeping anyone off TV who can go.
Instead, The Authority's time ends here. It's an angle that has run it course, stretching out now past a year and running on tires with low air. Having the uncertainty of what's to come with The Authority out of power is how you gets folks excited enough to stay engaged.
Ziggler and Ryback will look good here, each getting at least one elimination. The company has shined the spotlight on both of them as of late.
Betting on Cena is always safe, but it's The Viper who is going to secure Team Cena's victory. Orton will make a surprise visit and handout RKOs to everyone in The Authority. It's the perfect time to make his official babyface turn in that Survivor Series is in his hometown of St. Louis and he get the ultimate revenge on Rollins by costing him the match here.
How poetic it would be that the man The Authority first built its empire around is the one who pulls it apart.
