Breaking Down Potential Results
Decision

Based on the recent results of both Pacquiao and Algieri, this fight will likely go to the scorecards. Pac-Man is heralded for his power but hasn't scored a knockout win since 2009, while Algieri has just eight knockout victories on his resume with the most recent one coming nearly three years ago.
Both of these fighters are tough and have plenty of stamina, so they have no qualms about going the distance. With that said, there is always a great amount of risk involved with relying on a decision due to the fact that judges tend to be volatile.
Pacquiao is the quicker and more explosive fighter, but Algieri has a fairly significant size advantage, as seen in graphic from Inquirer Sports:
Algieri's height and reach should allow him to utilize the jab, which will be paramount in terms of neutralizing Pacquiao and scoring some major points as well.
Conversely, trainer Freddie Roach revealed that Pacquiao is planning on doing the bulk of his damage against Algieri with body shots, per GMANetwork.com.
"We're targeting the midsection," Roach said. "The most important thing is to work on his body. He has the height, but he doesn't have good defense. His body is always wide open. We have to exploit it."
Both boxers have potentially great weapons and game plans at their disposal, and it will be interesting to see who is able to execute most effectively.
Knockout

There is nothing more gratifying in boxing than a knockout, which is likely why Pacquiao and Algieri's respective camps have been so vocal about that particular result. Despite their dry spells in terms of stopping their opponents, Pac-Man and Algieri do possess enough power to end it early under the right circumstances.
Roach has been quite talkative during the lead-up to the fight, and he insists that Pacquiao intends to make very quick work of Algieri, according to Greg Logan of Newsday.
"Manny told me, 'One round,'" Roach said. "He's never done that. He won't repeat it, but that's what he said: 'One round.'"
Not surprisingly, Algieri's camp wasn't willing to sit idly by while Roach and Co. predicted a knockout. In fact, trainer Tim Lane announced that Algieri would knock out Pac-Man, although he believes it will take a bit longer than just one round, per GMANetwork.com.
"Tenth-round stoppage," Lane said.
Seeing as Algieri has never been knocked out and Pacquiao has been knocked out just three times in his illustrious career, the odds aren't in favor of this one going any less than 12 rounds. If both fighters are truly committed to stopping the other, though, they could leave themselves open for a decisive blow.
Draw
Although unlikely, it is possible that Pacquiao and Algieri could be so evenly matched that their fight ends in a draw. While it is rare, Pac-Man is no stranger to an indecisive finish.
He has draws against Agapito Sanchez and Juan Manuel Marquez on his resume; however, he hasn't competed in a stalemate since 2004. Algieri, on the other hand, is a perfect 20-0 without any losses, draws or no-contests on his unblemished record.
Both combatants are so focused on coming out on top that neither wants a draw, but the fans may not mind it, so long as the fighters leave it all on the line and put on a captivating performance.
