Arsene Wenger Rules out Arsenal for France Switch, Labels Job Waste of Time
Arsene Wenger will not abandon Arsenal for the chance to become manager of France, proclaiming that the national team position is "a waste of time."
In an interview with beIN Sports (h/t ESPN.co.uk), the Gunners chief revealed he's been offered Les Bleus' head role on several occasions and isn't inclined to change his stance: "I have had the opportunity to be France coach several times. As the France coach, there are only two interesting things: the World Cup and the Euros. The rest is a little bit of a waste of time."

Throughout his 18-year stay at the north London club, Wenger has been incessantly linked with moves back to France, but he has ridden through adversity time and again to retain his spot at the Gunners' helm.
At the age of 65, one might not blame the managerial veteran were he to opt for the arguably less demanding regime of an international position.
However, it would seem Wenger's love for the game is so devoted that he would rather endure the stacked schedule of a Premier League giant.
Arsenal sit sixth in the Premier League table at present and have been beleaguered by a mixed start to the 2014-15 campaign. ESPN's Miguel Delaney questions Wenger's transfer policy, as has become a widely discussed topic at the Emirates:
However, despite those revived doubts in the manager's ability, the Daily Mail's Sami Mokbel says Wenger's position is safe for the time being:
France have progressed well under current coach Didier Deschamps and were dismayed to exit this year's World Cup at the quarter-final stage, losing 1-0 to eventual tournament winners Germany.
Bleacher Report's James McNicholas believes in Les Bleus' potential, and he even sees Deschamps' side overtaking Germany as the force to watch in years to come:
Prior to his arrival in north London, Wenger was a little-known name to the European masses, but the boss has cultivated a dedicated following after winning three Premier League crowns and three FA Cups.
Seemingly a glutton for punishment, the "quiet" life of France manager clearly isn't the one for Wenger. It's news which will likely produce a mixed response between those Arsenal fans who still believe and others who would rather see him leave.
